History[edit]

"Zoning controversy"[edit]

The above two points seem to have been addressed.

This section oscillates unpredictably between a "place of worship" and a mosque. Surely, if (as the quoted resident implies) the fact that a mosque was proposed, then it should start and stick with that point?

Murder news[edit]

A recent BBC news article seems likely to raise the profile of this town, with dark hints of a drug-dealing underculture, murders, rape and (at best) police incompetence. Controversy seems a safe prediction. Aidan Karley (talk) 12:57, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Statement in the article: "The state completed the suppression of competition by disenfranchising blacks at the turn of the 20th century."[edit]

Neither Kentucky nor any of the other border states disenfranchised African Americans as the article contends. There were other forms of oppression, but disenfranchisement was not one of them.
