  • I had a heavy dispute over the fact that someone keeps putting the cast back on the page and heavily emphasis the fact that some of them were indeed born in Hawai'i and/or moved to Hawai'i and has lived there for some time but so be it. It doesn't change much nor does it weigh heavy on how "local" they are despite some of them living there all their lives. The same goes for emphasis on the 2000 Census which indeed shows that there are more white people on Maui then Asians or even Native Hawaiians. First of all, the Census has nothing to do with the show hence, it has nothing to do with the article so I deleted it. Secondly, for those who really wants to know why there is way less Hawaiian's then Caucasian's is because of the caucasian. The past history between native hawaiian's and white people has not been a good one at all. The haole came to the islands, took native lands, attempted to abolish native customs and hawaiian language itself, destroyed the monarchy, and brought disease which led to the death of many, Hawaiian's. The only thing that I can put into contrast is although the haole destroyed the monarchy, they were also the ones who help unite the islands and modernized it when Isaac Davis and John Young (both residents to Hawai'i) trained King Kamehameha I's army to use firearms. That is why the Hawaiian's have animosity towards the haole and in more particular the haole not from Hawai'i. You may not realize this but the haole love to impose their way of life and what they think should and/or would happen to the Hawaiian population and its that mentality that upsets the Hawaiian community. That is why a show like Maui Fever is a damaging device on Hawai'i.

  • You may not realize this but the kanaka love to impose their way of life and what they think should and/or would happen to the Hawaiian population and its that mentality that upsets the Hawaiian community. As if their voice is the only important or worthwhile one, which one can argue is pretty absurd and bigoted. Hawaii isn't purely composed of Kanaka, quit acting like it. Totally not surprised to see butthurt prejudice and people trying to slide in racial bullcrap in this article, using slanted and half-learned history to justify their hate. Aloha. ;)

Database Locked[edit]

This show is DEFINITLY FAKE! It's almost made to be funny because it's so over-the-top. Why is it presented here as a "Reality show"? (JD)

Whats up with that? Anyways these white folks is fake. 07:18, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

The sentence that says to come here to discuss is unneeded. People using this will generally know where to go for discussions. This is the only article I have ever seen that says this. Also, we need to keep a NPOV in this article. Eventhough, you might not like the show, please keep it neutral and having to do with the article. LightningOffense 14:13, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, what?01:09, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

What does this even mean?[edit]

"Due to the fact that there are very few locals on the show, there have been some online petitions on popular websites such as MySpace."

What. Is that a complete thought? There have been some online petitions to do what? Ozmodiar.x 19:11, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Maui Fever Episode Screenshot - Apology Unaccepted 1.jpg[edit]

Image:Maui Fever Episode Screenshot - Apology Unaccepted 1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
