Father's career
@Acdixon: Responding to your edit, while the IP's edit was based on WP:OR, the sentence's cited source says "He said his dad, Avery Bevin, worked in a wood mill most of his life, though he had other jobs, and when a shoe factory where he worked burned down, he took a job at McDonald's."
Since working at McDonald's and a shoe factory appear to have been "minor" jobs in his life, we may not have to mention them, but they are cited. --1990'sguy (talk) 19:50, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
- @1990'sguy: Good catch. I confess that, since the information about the shoe factory and McDonald's didn't appear to be in the article prior to the IP edit, and because the IP edit summary specifically said the edit was based on first-hand knowledge (i.e. WP:OR), I just assumed the information wasn't in the cited source without going back to look at it. That's my fault. Still, it seems that the wood mill was the father's primary occupation for most of his life. Since the article is about the son, not the father, I don't really see these other two occupations as being super-important, especially McDonald's, which was likely just a temporary gig occasioned by the fire at the shoe factory. Still, the citation is sufficient if folks feel like that needs to be re-added. Again, my apologies to the IP for sloppy removal of content on my part.
