begin[edit]

Did construction really begin (November 11, 1945) after Japan's surrender (August 15, 1945)? I suspect the year it began was 1944; please recheck your source. Askari Mark (Talk) 22:40, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Typo on my part. Raul654 (talk) 23:18, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not B-class[edit]

This needs more inline citations for B-class. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:18, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

mistranslation 'tatami mat'[edit]

Families were "allowed to leave with three tatami mats" doesnt make much sense- tatami mats are typical japanese units to measure living area, as are sq.ft. in english. Anyone wants to look at the sources? None are given here... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.5.231.52 (talk) 19:18, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The entire paragraph is a fairly faithful translation of the Japanese Wikipedia article. It clearly says that each family was limited to removing three tatami mats from their house. They were also prohibited from removing any plants or rocks from their gardens. There is one offline source given at the end of the paragraph on the Japanese wiki. Assuming that the Japanese article is correct, I can only guess that the people were prevented from taking large quantities of tatami mats from their house because doing so would give the impression that they were not planning on coming back. It would be good if somebody could confirm the Japanese source (a 2006 book) and add it to the English article. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 00:56, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing on comfort women section?[edit]

This section in English seems to be a direct translation from the Japanese version of the article but when I follow to the singular reference #5 (^ a b c 西条地区を考える会, 2006, p. 74 “第二章 朝鮮の人々の思い出”.) I can not trace down any such publication as “第二章 朝鮮の人々の思い出”. The group 西条地区を考える会 exists and has one book listed on Amazon Japan but the book used as a source for this article can not be found anywhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 106.184.21.235 (talk) 10:41, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That is the name of the chapter in the book, not the name of a separate book. 2404:2D00:5000:701:C927:C1DF:56A9:B0E9 (talk) 18:40, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
