Names of the band's members[edit]

I have a citation confirming that these guys are The Gusto. Is there some unspoken agreement here not to mention this in the article? Not sure it can be a privacy violation if a free weekly paper reported this seven years ago. --Editrix71 (talk) 21:40, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Here is an article that could be used to confirm that Masked Intruder are the Gusto. Plus, Allmusic credits there real names here and Discogs shows the real names for Yellow, Red and Green, leaving just Patt/Blue un-linked. Robman94 (talk) 23:58, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline Colors[edit]

The timeline colors keep getting changed to supposedly match the colors of the band members' masks. However, while not written, this does feel a bit contradictory to the unspoken standardized colors on band timelines:

Red = Vocals
Green = Guitar
Blue = Bass
Orange = Drums

On top of this, this is to imply that when band members change, colors won't, which is already false because Yellow was replaced by Purple. This practice is almost implying that you need to reflect the masks of each band member more than what instruments they perform, which does break standards. Therefore, it feels more suited to stick to the usual color scheming of band timelines. PopDisaster182 (talk) 18:40, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My main concern with this is the confusion that is caused when reading the chart. Ok, "Blue plays Guitar, and he's red. Red plays drums, and he's orange." Good charts are readable at a glance, and having to do mental gymnastics to keep the legend straight does not contribute to readability. I don't believe we should subscribe to "unspoken standardized" colors that other pages happen to use. If they were officially standardized, it would be a different conversation, but even then I believe this would be a good case to break the mold. The colors themselves have no particular meaning, vocals aren't inherently 'red'. It was an arbitrary choice someone made somewhere along the way. I don't see someone coming to this chart with memorized knowledge of what the colors are supposed to mean.

There's no point in speculating on what will happen if members change again. For the most part, they will probably stay mostly consistent, and it's never been ruled out that Yellow might return. I think it's best to err on the side of ease of understanding, and given the band's unique approach of giving members a color, matching them makes the most sense by far.
