Intro[edit]

I find the intro somewhat short. Maybe give a quick synopsis in there and reference the 2 biggest movies he was in. Example: Mark Strong (born August 1963)[1] is an English actor. His most notable roles are that Lord Blackwood in Sherlock Holmes (2009 film) and of Prince Septimus in Stardust (2007 film). Robin.lemstra (talk) 09:14, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced material[edit]

Is there a reference for the comment and quote "Strong's greatest inspiration is Nelson Mandela: "I made a film this summer about the end of apartheid in South Africa – his suffering, coupled with his ability to remain tolerant, is staggering". Just deleted a couple of paragraphs[edit]

I just deleted the following two paragraphs, which seemed slightly rambling and possibly don't belong in this BLP article?

Strong allows characters and scripts to have a backward chronological influence integrated with his acting parts with more recent political developments despite the year, information, or knowledge of the character of the time. For example, in "The Siege of Jadotville" which occurred in 1961, his character in the movie of the same name said "What did the sun king of Camelot have to say". This is in reference to Kennedy of the United States. That characterization of Kennedy did not occur until after he was killed based on Jackie Kennedy's comments after her husband's death, which was of course in 1963, years after Jadotville. [1]


In the Jadotville movie, he also refers to the fact that the war was based on America and the Soviet Unions desire for chromium, "for missile guided systems". This being in 1961, when for basically 25 years thereafter, no missile guided system actually existed. It had nothing to do with the copper and nickel according to the actor protagonist of this African skirmish, but about the chromium the United States wanted... or Russia. It was actually copper and nickel. [2]
