Lead piping for a bilge pump was found on the Antikythera wreak (220BCE)...

"For the most part, when found in association with reservoirs, they are identified as belonging to pumps (Gr. αντλία, άντλος, Lat. sentinaculum) used for discharging water from leaks or rainwater gathered in the hull (Gr. άντλος, Lat. sentinα)."

The catalogue goes on to describe earlier lead pipe pumps...

"The earliest lead pipe from a water bilge pump was identified in the 300-270 BC shipwreck at Serce Limani."

[EDIT] I just re-read the catalogue entry - the sample of the ship's timber dates to 220bc, the lead pump to "First half of first century BC or earlier" so make of that what ye will. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.144.26.214 (talk) 18:51, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
