Fair use rationale for Image:MarionPruettcrop.JPG[edit]

Image:MarionPruettcrop.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WikiProject membership[edit]

Why is this article a member of the Organized Crime WikiProject? There is nothing in the article about the reasons for the subject being associated with organized crime. Killing someone who is associated with organized crime and then being put into a witness protection program for giving evidence doesn't associate the subject of this article with organized crime, especially when the article doesn't explain the circumstances of the prison murder, which the subject subsequently alleged he committed, despite contradicting his evidence given in court. The article is substantially incomplete, as no explanation is given about why the subject was even in prison. Since the subject is deceased, neither WP:BLP nor WP:BDP should apply to the subject themselves, although it might apply to others mentioned in the article. As far as I can tell, MOS:BIO should apply. While I do not expect completeness, I do expect sufficient information to make an assessment for a WikiProject. Can someone justify why I should not remove the Organized Crime banner? - Cameron Dewe (talk) 03:15, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Since editor Usernamekiran_(AWB) (talk · contribs) contributed this banner, I wonder if editor Usernamekiran (talk · contribs) can provide any insights? - Cameron Dewe (talk) 20:57, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have come across the United States Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit case of Pruett v. Norris (Decided: August 07, 1998) which says that Pruett had been serving a 23-year federal penitentiary sentence for bank robbery and had been serving time with an underworld figure whom he gave testimony against. As a result he was put into witness protection. This appears to be the organized crime connection. Also, some details about how the Pruett came to be in witness protection are discussed in: Levin, Joshua M. (1985). "Organized Crime and Insulated Violence: Federal Liability for Illegal Conduct in the Witness Protection Program". Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology. 76 (1).
