Past tense[edit]

The use of the past tense in this article is incorrect. It should all be in present tense as the game is not "dead".165.124.106.201 19:54, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sequel[edit]

I think it should be noted that there was a sequel to this game simply titled "Mario Teaches Typing 2." I had it when I was much younger. I remember playing the original game in the school's computer lab. The only difference I found was that the menu screen was more full in the sequel.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.126.78.174 (talkcontribs) 13:21, April 25, 2006

Mario Voice Confusion[edit]

I think the voice actor of mario could be Ronald B. Ruben as some mentioned but someone deleted it from the mario page. However it could be Charles Maritinet. If it is, HE MADE A VERY PATHETIC VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Which one is it? Frankyboy5 18:52, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Internet prominence[edit]

since literally everything the Mario head in this game says are really popular internet memes, does anyone think they should be mentioned somewhere in this article? NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 20:33, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Depends if reliable sources cover it. Panini! 🥪 02:16, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I came back to this now that I have more time @Timur9008 and @Timur9008. I did a relatively surface-level search via the video game search engine with specific keywords relating to "meme" and "internet", which yielded no results relating to the memes. That's with good-exclusive sources, though. You could probably find something of less quality out there if you look hard enough. It's not a relevant meme and it hasn't been for a while, so you may need to dig deep. Panini! 🥪 23:08, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I will see if I can at all find something. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 23:12, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well I checked but I found nothing Timur9008 (talk) 12:49, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, well then that settles it. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 23:17, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mario Teaches Typing was the first game by Nintendo that released for hardware outside of their own[edit]

The article currently claims the above, which is false. Nintendo released a bunch of Donkey Kong ports in the 80s on hardware they do not own such as Atari, IBM-DOS, VIC-20.

If the claim is limited to a game with Mario (such as the source newspaper claims) this is also false. Even ignoring the fact that Mario is present in the Donkey Kong ports listed above (he was not named at first), Nintendo released Super Mario Bros. & Friends: When I Grow Up 1992/03/24 (US), 1991 (Japan) on DOS. Mario Teaches Typing came out 1992/11/13 (US), 1992/03/08 (Japan).

These games were pretty obscure in 1992 and were not advertised by Nintendo much. The newspaper source is from Scotland, where Super Mario Bros. & Friends: When I Grow Up did not come out, so it's understandable that it got this wrong. Bridgepedal (talk) 13:55, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
