Did You Know A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on February 19, 2023.

Items[edit]

Unlike all the other Mario Kart articles, this article doesn't go into any depth at all about what items appear in the game -- not even mentioning that the items are, of course, based on the Mario universe.

MKSC had essentially the same types of items as Mario Kart 64, should that be included? Stratadrake 17:03, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't even recall that many of the items listed were in Mario Kart Super Circuit. For example, I don't think the triple bananas, fake item boxes, or golden mushrooms were in the game. --FlyingPenguins 07:54, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, you're right, they weren't FrogTape 22:04, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Players[edit]

I was walking in the store today when I found a GBA codebook. Under Mario Kart Super Circut, it had "Unlock WaLuigi" I think you had to get the highest ranking on everything. I'm guessing this is fake, since Wario didn't even appear in that game, but, it's not like I actually tried it, or anything.

Wario's in that game. FrogTape 22:01, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Wario is in the game but Waluigi has become a badly spread rumor. Of course, experts who have played the game and beaten everything have proven this false. Case closed. Magiwand 4:41, 5 May 2007

Models[edit]

Technically, the character models are not based on Mario Kart 64 simply because MK64 had sprites (prerendered), and not actual 3D models, for the characters. 74.69.245.119 05:15, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

True that mk64 used renderings but mksc also used renderings, just a different set and not models. Magiwand 4:44, 5 May 2007

Circuit list and Waluigi[edit]

Can anyone make a circuit list? And how can you get Waluigi? --82.207.190.237 14:35, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a forum for discussing tips and tricks for the game. This place is for discussing about updating the article. Parrothead1983 (talk) 18:12, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:GBA Mario Kart.png[edit]

Image:GBA Mario Kart.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I'll take this one. Expect comments within a few days. JOEBRO64 21:28, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Overall, this is a great article and I don't have much to say. I did some copyediting I assumed would be uncontroversial (I think it's easier if I just do that myself than ask for it to be done), so here's all that remains.

  • The lede mentions that the tracks are based on levels from the Super Mario games but this isn't mentioned in prose.
  • Might be worth noting in Development and release that a Chinese localization was planned but canceled due to piracy
    •  Done; nice find. The article actually refers to the game as "Super Mario Kart" but I assume that can be overlooked considering it uses a screenshot from Super Circuit and the article is about GBA games. L ke (talkcontribs) 17:36, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • There's no mention that the Japanese version had online support via the Mobile Adapter GB, this IGN article explains it
  • I think the CBR thing cited in the Legacy section should be removed. Post-2016 CBR isn't a terribly great source, and it comes across as more of trivia than anything else. Unlike the Paste article, it doesn't discuss Super Circuit in particular or its standing within the broader Mario Kart franchise, just a random track it featured.
    •  Done — would you say it's worth combining Legacy into Reception, considering there isn't particularly much there? L ke (talkcontribs) 17:36, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Other than that, I really have nothing to say. Nice work. JOEBRO64 15:13, 4 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • TheJoebro64 I believe I have addressed everything, let me know if you still have any issues. L ke (talkcontribs) 17:36, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
