Mariano (footballer) → Mariano (footballer, born 1986) – Not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of footballers who play under the mononym "Mariano". Mariano Díaz Mejía is known by his first name, and was signed by Real Madrid to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. It is difficult to gauge who is the most notable, as search results and page hits for Mariano Díaz are skewed in his favour by his recent transfer, and neither is long-term notable enough to be in books. However, Mariano Ferreira is clearly not miles ahead to be the primary topic in the way that Raúl (footballer) is. Support, the Real Madrid footballer is more prominent. Even Mariano is questionable, I personally would split the given name and surname off into their own articles, then convert it into a dab page listing them and the several footballers. "Mariano (footballer)" can then redirect to it as an R from incomplete disambiguation —Xezbeth (talk) 04:52, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
