Pronoun usage?[edit]

Should their pronouns be updated, considering that the most recent information does seem do say that they identified as male? I'm reluctant to change it myself just because I'm not sure that this is the case, but can't find very much information. PigeonPidgin (talk) 04:06, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I would agree with you, PigeonPidgin. I'm currently working on the Portuguese version of this page (and will add any outstanding information here as well) and all the evidence seems to point to the fact that Gomes identified as a man. I would suggest also changing the page's name to what is currently shown as his alias, although that may be seen as original research. There is a journalist that quotes Gomes in a newspaper article as saying "I don't feel comfortable as a General, but I feel comfortable as a man" (my translation).
