Untitled[edit]

Both Burke's and Cracroft's list her as "30th in line" — I'm not sure where the "31st" came from. Proteus (Talk) 09:47, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

30th or 31st Countess?[edit]

All sources I see say 31st. Burkes and thepeerage.com do. When I googled "31st Countess of Mar" I got 24 hits. When I googled "30th Countess of Mar", I got no hits except that of Wikipedia. I think that, though during his life he was actually 1st Earl, Alexander Stewart in the current numbering is called 12th Earl. Unless you find a source proving me otherwise, don't change back the edit! Matjlav 17:11, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Burke's has "THE COUNTESS OF MAR, 30th holder of the title" and Cracroft's has "Countess of Mar (30th in line)". If your only other source is thepeerage.com, then you're hardly in a position to demand anything. Proteus (Talk) 17:56, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

32nd or 33rd Jacobite Countess?[edit]

This page says "she is numbered as 32nd Countess of Mar" while Duke of Mar says "Margaret of Mar, 33rd Countess of Mar, 11th Duchess of Mar" --Rumping 14:10, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Armorial[edit]

Margaret, being female, would not use a helmet or a crest. Robin S. Taylor (talk) 10:25, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And, also by dint of gender, she should have a lozenge (diamond) 'shield.' Forfariano (talk) 14:10, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
