Notes on starting this article

• Note 1: This article has previously been deleted (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Makedonsko Devojče) but I don't believe that deletion was warranted. I have contacted the administrator responsible for the deletion to avert speedy re-deletion of the article.
• Note 2: This article is expected to be subject to the same arguments between Bulgarian and Macedonian editors (of which I am neither) as for various other songs originating in the historical region of Macedonia (which spans several sovereign nation states according to today's borders) -- for example Jovano Jovanke. Edit warning of any nature but particularly of this kind will cannot be tolerated as it's totally unhelpful to informing the rest of us.
• Note 3: There may not be many easily available resources in English about this song to confirm its notability according to Wikipedia's guidelines. We'll need to look hard for them, but in the meantime, lack of them doesn't mean the song isn't notable. It's worth mentioning that both the Macedonian language and Bulgarian language Wikipedia's have an articles 1 and 2 about this song (as in fact do 9 other language Wikipedias in addition to these).

Composer/authorship

I must say or clarify one thing: this song is written and performed for the first time by the Macedonian singer Jonče Hristovski (on Macedonian) in the Republic of Macedonia in 1964 (then SR Macedonia). Nothing to do with BG. --MacedonianBoy (talk) 17:47, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

I would add a second request for a reliable reference in English to show this. It is hard for me personally, not being very good at reading Cyrillic very quickly, and with non-existent knowledge of Macedonian language, to verify this. If there's no English source, can you translate a reliable reference in another language into English so it is clear and unambiguous to those like me who rely on verifying things in this English version of wikipedia in English. Second point: even if Hristovski is the official composer of the song, it doesn't automatically mean this song only exists in Macedonian language and only exists in the nation state called republic of Macedonia. I learnt that from editing Jovano Jovanke. And sometimes in such cases with traditional songs, the song has pre-existed in the culture for many years prior to that, and the first person to write down the words and music obtains the copyright and official authorship. So the song may well have lyrics in other languages of the region and the song may "belong" to the region as a whole, not just one artificially-bounded part of it. I personally need more information and references before I can accept your edits, but willing to accept the consensus of other editors while we build up those. Song titles often use title case, but I notice that in other language versions of this article such as Bulgarian/Macedonian, Russian and Slovenian, sentence case is used, so is presumably the definitive name for the song. I don't think this needs any discussion. Will move it now. Donama (talk) 01:55, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Actually, orthographic rules (including capitalization) differ from language to language. Nevertheless, this song is little known in Western literature and is therefore a transliteration of the original Macedonian and also why Macedonian orthographic rules apply (lower case/not title case). --165.187.10.16 (talk) 04:33, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
