Houston and NYC Airport designation[edit]

I have kept on constantly changing Houston-Bush to Houston-Intercontinental & New York-Kennedy to New York-JFK and someone keeps changing them back! How should the cities be designated? I think to just leave them JFK and Intercontinental because the majority of these US airport articles designate New York and Houston Intercontinental and JFK. What do you think? I've noticed the constant volleying as well. It would not be factually inaccurate at all to have it written as Houston-Bush Intercontinental or New York-Kennedy. Both are technically correct, so why not just compromise, that'd be the easiest way to put an end to any silliness. Deletion of Virgin announcement[edit]

I deleted the following post for several reasons:

1) unless an updated charter/spotting section is added... the announcement of a single (not to mention rather trite, despite the lack of scheduled transatlantic service) nonscheduled aircraft arrival doesn't fit in with the rest of the article. This in contrast to the Miami Air announcement, which recurs on a continual basis and is available to the general public; many of which may receive valuable information thereupon via this site.

2) it's factually incorrect: Lufthansa, to cite one example, has flown A340s into MSY on both diversions from Houston on and charters several times in the past.

Continental deletion in return of int'l service[edit]

I deleted the pointless addition of Continental's through-service to Brazil. This flight is not a return of int'l service to New Orleans, and does absolutely zilch in terms of re-establishing our international portfolio. The flight number is just an attachment they've made to an already-existing 737 service operating between Houston and New Orleans, which is used by this (and, to be fair, most other Legacy airlines) as a pathetic marketing attempt used to curry favor from the USDOT when route-allocations are being considered.

There's nothing "international" about it, from New Orleans' perspective. Continental won't even hold the 767 operating the actual international segment of the flight, if the 737 incoming from New Orleans is late into Houston.

I recall a few years ago that Continental had another similar scheme with a "direct" flight to/from London/Gatwick via IAH. Night Tracks (talk) 11:32, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Concourse C description[edit]

To whoever continually alters the information on the description of Concourse C, STOP! You are propagating false information. All international arrivals are NOT required to disembark in Concourse C, as various Canadian, Bahamian, and various other customs/immigration pre-cleared arrivals have proven on a weekly basis, for years on end. NW-Operated Flights Depart from Concourse C (C15, C16)[edit]

Former NW ops aren't the only ones. Several late arrivals/RONs from the likes of ATL, and thus sometimes their ensuing morning departures, have been opped out of C as well. Immortal Synn (talk) 04:23, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Runway 6/24 now Taxiway D on current FAA Airport Diagram[edit]

Runway 6/24 should be deleted from the runway data list, when appropriate. Runway 6/24 is now shown as taxiway D on the current Airport Diagram. Finding an official citation for this change may be difficult. There are numerous freely downloadable versions of the FAA charts from 3rd party websites, however the FAA charges for its regional Airport Facility Directory volumes. This information is updated approximately monthly, so a link to a current chart copy from a 3rd party site may be out-of-date shortly. Matt in tx (talk) 03:20, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Old terminal[edit]

A fairly detailed description of the old terminal was removed in this diff https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Louis_Armstrong_New_Orleans_International_Airport&diff=983479582&oldid=982482511&diffmode=source it seems a bit of a shame to lose it completely. I feel former airport terminals are still encylopediac e.g. Heathrow Terminal 1

Perhaps this could be restored in a seperate article or "History of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport"?

Change in bus lines[edit]

with the new terminal, E-1 Veterans bus now goes directly to the airport, while the E-2 still dead-ends at the old terminal, which is now solely used as economy parking. 173.0.17.247 (talk) 16:27, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
