B class[edit]

In terms of moving in the direction of GA in terms of structure and additions, I would suggest looking at other denominations that have reached GA such as: Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox Church in America, and Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. Feel free to contact if you have any other questions. -- Secisek (talk) 04:17, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on 19 Feb revert[edit]

  • The addition of "worshipping the Lord in His Divine Human" to the main classification field of the infobox: this field is intended for very high-level denomination distinctions, not detailed ones like this.
  • The addition of the following to the article's lead: "This is a New Christian Church, because it worships the Lord Jesus Christ in His Divine Human as the One Only God of heaven and earth, in Whom is the Divine Trinity - a Divine Trinity in One Person, not Three Persons. The nature of the Lord's Divine Human was not clearly known to the older Christian Churches, yet is clearly revealed in the Word of the Third Testament":
    • First, this information is too detailed for a lead, which should be a concise summary of the article. This is specific theological information.
    • Second, and more importantly, the language is not NPOV - its tone implies that this church is correct and others have it wrong. The tone of the article needs to be objective and secular, even though it is about a theological subject.
  • The addition of the Leading Theses Propounded In "De Hemelsche Leer" to the Teachings and practices section: these principles are largely redundant wrt to the preceeding Essentials - which is to be expected, since they were the cause of the schism. While they are mentioned as church doctrine on the church's website, they are not listed under its essential principles section. Since the article cannot present all of the doctrinal material of the church, it seems sensible to limit the section to the essential points, as the church has decided to phrase them.

Modern Relationship to General New Church[edit]

I think it would be highly relevant to mention the modern relationship between this church and the general new church (General Church of the New Jerusalem) in Bryn Athyn. Everyone I know in the New Church community in Bryn Athyn has described these two churches as having closely overlapping communities and a more-or-less similar belief system, contrasting with the Swedenborgian Church of North America which seems less closely connected. It seems important to discuss this on the page, but I don't know how to find a good source discussing this relationship. Cazort (talk) 18:19, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
