The Netherlands had 10,000 windmills, with an area of 41,543 square km it was approx. 1 mill / 4.15 square km. So the sentence 'with 9 mills / km2 is higher...' is incorrect. (Plrasr mrntipn the source) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.158.54.178 (talk) 15:18, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fort Ricasoli Windmill[edit]

1834 engraving

The Malta Windmill Database mentions a windmill which existed in Fort Ricasoli, known only from the 1834 engraving which is shown here. This is apparently an error as the windmill visible in the engraving seems to be one of the two windmills that were found in Valletta, so the Fort Ricasoli Windmill was removed from this list. Density of windmills[edit]

The text: 'Malta has the highest density of windmills in the world, having approximately a windmill for each 9 km2 (3.5 sq mi), which is higher than the Netherlands which is famous for its windmills' os incorrect. The Netherlands had approx. 10,000 windmills (now 1,000). With an area of 41.543 km² it was approx. 4.15 mills / km²
