Flags[edit]

The article looks terrible. I'd remove the flags myself but it looks like I'd mess up the formatting in the process. - Dudesleeper / Talk 12:56, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well it's not an article, just a list, and at that not very useful in my opinion. During the last two years there was some feirce edit warring on the Dublin article over sister-city flag icons and they were removed by consensus to avoid the problem. I did the same today when lots of flag icons were added again. My issue with this list is with all the empty county names. Is it likely there will be any entries? If not they should be removed. I don't know what useful function is served by having flag icons at all especially if various nationalists start changing or deleting some icons because of their POV. I'm still in the middle of this list at the moment.
It's a copy of the UK page, so does that make the UK page terrible too? And I thought that the whole idea of Wikipedia was that when circumstances change, we are there to edit it? Halowithhorns89 (talk) 08:45, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In that case I will reserve judgement until you finish. ww2censor (talk) 16:16, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cork–Manizales[edit]

I believe that is not a true twinning, but rather a twinning or partnership under the UNESCO Learning Cities program. A followup BC Noticias article discusses the two cities in this context. A complete list of cities in this program is here. Thanks, Declangi (talk) 22:27, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Declangi: Hi, I'm afraid that both your source and other sources (here or here, for example) talk about twinning and membership in the UNESCO Learning Cities as two different things, signed in quick succession, with twinning being signed first. They plan to cooperate mainly in the field of education and sustainability. FromCzech (talk) 06:21, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
