Request for a clarification[edit]

@Mjroots: Greetings and felicitations. Since you seem to be the primary editor for this article, would you please be so kind as to clarify something for me? In the 21 October list, is "Defendent" the correct spelling, or is "Defendant"? I tried to check the Liverpool Mercury archives (the in question), but I don't have access, and am unwilling to spend the money to acquire it unless absolutely necessary. (I'm a typo hunter, and "defendent" is one of the misspellings I correct.) —09:04, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

@DocWatson42: it was Defendant - "Defendant, from London to Sunderland, wrecked at Bowdon." If you're in the UK, I would recommend getting a library card, as that usually gives online access to many useful sources that would otherwise require paying for. @Mjroots: I do have various library cards (e.g., I have access to the full Oxford English Dictionary, as well as JSTOR via Wikipedia), just not many with access privileges to British newspaper archives, at least not off-premises access. —DocWatson42 (talk) 07:17, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
