Was Titus a bishop in Crete or the appointer of bishops[edit]

Inasmuch as elder (presbyteros) and bishop (episkopos) are synonymous offices in the NT, and inasmuch as Titus was to appoint elders in Crete; should he not rather be called an appointer of bishops, rather than a bishop? Is there some contemporary source which calls Titus a bishop? Was he not more accurately called a missionary and an apostolic legate of Paul? The only contemporary source I know of for this is the Book of Titus, and data in a secondary source which is not supported by ancient contemporary sources (duly cited and footnoted) would not be a reliable secondary source. Removing muslims from the list that were not born in Crete[edit]

There are literally 1000s of Greeks, muslims - even many Armenians who have some distant or even close family originally from Crete. However only those who were actually born in Crete should make the page - of people from Crete as the title of the page suggesst. I am therefore removing Halil Berktay, Sezen Aksu, Ömer Kavur, Hüsamettin Cindoruk and Mustafa Fehmi Kubilay from this section. All were born in Turkey and although some have a parent or two born in Crete - they themselves are not born or raised in Crete. Having said that - any parent of the above that was actually from Crete - if they were notable - I am happy to add them to the list. Reaper7 (talk) 21:24, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
