Suggested article guidelines[edit]

There is some subjectivity involved in this listing, especially concerning the inclusion of contemporary microbiologists. Historical sources and content are appropriate. The definition of prominence should be used to assess the notability for inclusion in this list. Additional suggested guidelines for the inclusion of current or recently deceased microbiologists in this list should be from individuals 1900 to the present day with at least one of the following:
  • a recipient of the Pasteur Award
  • a recipient of the Nobel prize in the field of medicine or science based upon the study of microorganisms or the diseases caused by microorganisms.
  • a recipient of the AMA Scientific Achievement Award related to the study of one or more microorganisms.
  • a recipient of the National Medal of Science related to the study of one or more microorganisms.
  • a recipient of the Lister Medal related to the study of one or more microorganisms (not for surgical techniques)
Please discuss the inclusion of additional listings on the talk page before including a microbiologist.

In process[edit]

This article is in the process of major expansion and will include more of the microbiologists who have received Nobel prizes and other awards. Best Regards,
