Missing references[edit]

Multinomial distribution?[edit]

Extrapolating from the Bernoulli / binomial case, I would guess that:

Sum of categoricals ~ multinomial

Sum of multinomials ~ multinomial

Distributions without an analytic form[edit]

Please can a section be added to describe common distributions that are *not* known to have an analytic form under convolution, for example the convolution of two beta functions.

Split[edit]

I have added a split template on the basis that the present article, with its "proof" section, is no longer a simple list. The lead could be kept, possibly in both articles in their initial versions. Melcombe (talk) 11:48, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
