OR[edit]

In general Wikipedia is believed, supposed to not include original research. But list-articles such as this one obviously create new knowledge. There have been published attempts to compile lists on this topic, but none that comes close to this compendium, as far as I know. --Doncram (talk) 16:27, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Monnow Bridge

I think you need a Wales section. KJP1 (talk) 07:24, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:KJP1, thanks! I was in fact dimly recalling that article, which I read with interest a long time ago, and its great picture, but could not find it. It's a fortified bridge, and signficant enclosed defensive works on a bridge should qualify it for this list-article IMO. I do see the enclosed space has had other uses, too. Other military/fortified bridges should perhaps be included, such as an American bridge during the American Civil War which had raised blockhouses; I saw a photo of it in Commons but it lacked identification of its location. Again, thanks for that! --Doncram (talk) 01:29, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Now done. KJP1 (talk) 18:33, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

tone in lede for this[edit]

User:MB, in this edit, tagged the article for {{lede rewrite}} with suggestion there should be no questions. Thanks, I don't mind the tagging, though I have since removed the tag after rewording to avoid explicit questions. Further feedback welcomed. It is an issue, how to introduce/describe a list-article like this which in fact is an original compendium increasing world knowledge on a topic, but certainly incomplete and with many outstanding questions at least implied. --Doncram (talk) 01:22, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
