I you are going to have this, at least have some narrative about why this is important. Here are a few refs to get you started

CFL[edit]

CFL is a very different game than american football. There are multiple people in the CFL list breaking 6000 yards, so 5000 seems to be not nearly as notable in CFL as in NFL. while I have added several links showing the possible notability of 5000 to the NFL, I don't think that would apply to CFL which is the majority of this article. If you are going to remove CFL QBs then you must change the title to include American Football. CFL QBs are pro too. 24.141.168.108 (talk) 17:29, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

technicality[edit]

Technically, Marino retired in 2000, but before that season. Not 1999 (although that was his final season). 72.174.131.123 (talk) 12:13, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

72.174.131.123 is right about the wording edit[edit]

Hey @Hey man im josh I saw the dispute you and @72.174.131.123 had about wording a bit back in the logs of the article. I much prefer his version.

The sentence currently contains two clauses that aren’t talking about the same thing. “Nine quarterbacks have accomplished the feat,” (this is referring to the feat of all QBs throwing 5000 yards *ever*) and “although Dan Marino was the only one to even break 4,600 before 2000” (this is talking about a different yardage figure at a different point in time). Two changes of subject, the yardage count and the timeframe, make the sentence feel disjointed.

I think any English teacher would ask you to revise this into two sentences. :) Ethanbrs (talk) 20:01, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
