Italian/Irish heritage

I removed this info because I couldn't find a good source for it (i.e. IMDB, copies of Wikipedia, etc. don't count...) Has anyone seen one? JackO'Lantern 18:22, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

maybe you should of requested a citation first, before deleting... [1]

Her mother is Irish and her father is Italian. I suppose this means she is Irish and Italian. The name is spelled Cardellini

Cadellini?

The body lists her father's last name as "Cardellini" as you'd expect, but the info box says her birth name was "Cadellini." Just a typo, right? 69.140.178.221 08:10, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

A typo of course!User:Trampton

Sources for disputed content

In this edit, an IP user reinserted a claim about Cardellini in an animated TV show. Since it's been challenged, what reliable source backs this up? (And don't say IMDb, please). --Lexein (talk) 12:26, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Photographs - taken on a potato?

The two images below the prime image of this article are so low resolution they should be removed from the article. They're worthless, the person depicted is near unidentifiable in one of them. It's 2012, the average person has 3.8 digital cameras in the home with an average quality exceeding 8 megapixel. One of the images is 0.0034 megapixel. The publisher of it should be ashamed of themselves for contributing such utter rubbish. This kind of stuff is infuriating and inexcusable to any fan of photography, yet unfortunately prevalent as all hell on Wikipedia.

I understand they probably think they're helping, but so do dolts who add incoherent illiterate paragraphs that make no sense to articles which we all just have to clean up. In this case though, because it is a photograph and not babbling drivel in text, it seems to get a free pass? I disagree. In fact, I'm going to be bold and just fucken remove them. If you want to see how horrible they were if you're reading this and hadn't seen them before hand, the worst offender is File:PaleyFest_2011_-_Freaks_and_Geeks_Reunion_-_the_cast.jpg, and the other is File:Linda_Cardellini_onstage.jpg. I'll make a note on the user page of the person who took the photos thanking them for their contribution but politely asking that they try and ensure future uploads are at least 72 dpi (the first one I'd estimate to be about 30 or less. It displays less pixelated at 8% of it's size when played with in photoshop.

I hope I offend no one in this little rant, but as an artsy type I just nerdrage when I see such an affront to quality. As I said, if it was low quality textual content being contributed, it'd be reverted instantly and the persons talk page would get a vandalism warning. :P BaSH PR0MPT (talk) 16:33, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. See WP:TIGERS. All rants, and nerdrage, belong off Wikipedia. WP:Images are desirable in articles, and while high quality is preferred, representative imagery of a living person's work and appearances is acceptable even if it does not meet arbitrarily high, personal, and undocumented, standards. Yes, some images are unacceptable, such as when they are obviously too blurry in their unzoomed state, but the images you deleted do not fall into that class of low quality. Your tactic of blowing up the images beyond their in-article size is WP:POINTy, blatantly uncooperative behavior, and ignorant of the conditions under which the photos were taken, and the fact that Wikipedia depends upon and requires images to be licensed under free terms; this reduces the catalog of available images tremendously. Seems like you didn't thank any of the "authors" of the images, since in both cases, the editor who added the image to the article was me, not the original photo creator. Further, I requested the original photographers to license those images as CC, and spent a good little bit of time to improve the images to a level of acceptable usability here. You are the very first editor to comment so negatively, and delete so decisively, those images. Wikipedia is not a place upon which to visit one's personal biases, without actual discussion and consensus with other editors. So, per WP:BRD, you boldly deleted, I reverted, so now we, and others, discuss. --Lexein (talk) 07:22, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
I don't think either photo is overly bad. The PaleyFest one is rather blurry, which isn't too noticeable in its reduced state in the article. The onstage one is kind of grainy but bearable. I don't think that low quality is a good reason to exclude these images. It is a rare enough thing at Wikipedia that we have images of an acceptable license for living people that are not obstructed or otherwise unacceptable. I think we should take the opportunity to illustrate the article for now, and use this as a chance to appeal to fans for better quality images with a license we can use. Boy Meets World edit revert war

Please stop edit warring over "Boy Meets World" roles that Cardellini may have played, but please provide a reliable source. If such a source does not exist, delete the role not sourced. --Lexein (talk) 11:52, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Well, my edit was a mistake. Somehow I thought that the previous edit was adding it, and I thought I was reverting that (removing it), but it was the opposite. Sorry. User:Sofffie7 is the one who added it. Maybe she'll add a reference or explain here. --Musdan77 (talk) 05:12, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
Clearly you both haven't looked separately at every recent edit from the history... Because if you had you would have noticed that I just added stuff on her ancestry, her siblings and her parents' jobs and that it's actually an IP who added 'Stacey' next to Lauren. --Sofffie7 (talk) 13:53, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
She never guest starred as a "Stacey" on Boy Meets World. She only played a character named Lauren, I should know, I have seen all of her episodes on the show. This edit war is completely nonsensical. QuasyBoy (talk) 23:09, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
It's not a big deal. I'm glad the article is being developed, with sources. Let's just keep in mind this is a WP:BLP, so only add sourced claims. "I should know" - hee! --Lexein (talk) 00:26, 17 June 2013 (UTC) Addendum - Just checked IMDb and several other online sources. Cardellini only played Lauren, so "Stacey" is out. --Lexein (talk) 01:04, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
Perhaps me saying "I should know" was pushing it, but as it turns out I was correct. QuasyBoy (talk) 04:59, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
Can we call this consensus, that Lauren was her only BMW role, and close this? Yes/No/Comment below... --Lexein (talk) 14:12, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
  • Yes --Lexein (talk) 14:12, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
  • Yes. There really was no warring per se; just basically some mix-ups, and maybe some feathers ruffled. -- A learning experience. --Musdan77 (talk) 19:57, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Marriage Information

The side bar says "Partner(s): Steven Rodriguez (2009-present; engaged since 2013)". Surely that is supposed to be the other way 'round? married 2013, engaged 2009? 108.181.155.99 (talk) 00:21, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

DOB

Folks, please don't add her date of birth yet again unless it's backed by a WP:RS. Please keep WP:IMDBREF in mind. Toddst1 (talk) 03:38, 25 July 2018 (UTC)

Daughter's name

@MadBlade 2: let’s ignore the other stuff. I see no reason to go against WP:BLPNAME. Thedarkknightli (talk) 19:32, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

Yeah definitely, but I really think her daughters name should stay because most Wikipedia pages of actors and actresses, have their names of their child in the personal life section. So I think it's should stay, I stop fighting it, only if you let it stay, because I don't want to get into another argument, I've done it before with other uses on Wikipedia, but I don't want to start another one now. I would appreciate if you would let it stay. Please and thank you. MadBlade 2 (talk) 11:52, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
You aren't hearing me, buddy. As I mentioned in my last comment here, other stuff should generally be ignored, and I don't see why Cardellini should be an exception. Kindly refrain from assuming article ownership. Thedarkknightli (talk) 11:39, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
I didn't say that Cardellini should be an exception (Not because she is an actress I'm becoming a fan of), or assuming I own the article, I'm just stating the fact that the name of her child should be in the personal life section. Yes I understand why you think it should be an exception, but I'm just stating a fact that her child's name should be on the article like other Wikipedia has on actors like the late Burt Reynolds, or his ex-girlfriend actress Sally field, etc. I really don't want to get into another fight on here over something, I have done it before with other users and I have either won or lost, for example, I tried to add the Hollywood release date for the live-action Scooby-Doo movie that Cardellini was in, but a user by the name of MikeAllen tried to tell me that I need a reliable source even though it came out in Hollywood on June 8th of 2002. I apologize if it's not a good example, but I don't want to start another argument. I hope you understand. Please and thank you. MadBlade 2 (talk) 14:31, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
