"The oars"[edit]

The fact that les avirons means the oars [and could also mean rowing boats] is in my opinion irrelevant in this article, unless there is a real historical or etymological link in the name. Therefore, unless there are objections, I propose to delete the phrase (meaning "the oars" in French) from this page.
