Name version[edit]

What evidence is there that the most popular known version is Leipsoi and not Lipsi - I think most English people would know it as Lipsi and the article should be changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.84.25.117 (talk) 13:17, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lipsi already exists and redirects here, i.e., to Leipsoi.
Personally, I'm concerned that its older name, from which it was officially changed a few decades ago, and is still used in ecclesiastical documents and by at least one business on the island, has no redirect to here: Leipsos (or Lipsos), so I'll create these redirects. Thanks. Yes I realised the redirect was in place hence why this entry comes up in Google for Lipsi but I think this spelling is an overly literal transliteration of the Greek spelling and doesn't reflect the most commonly used English variant which would be Lipsi - so I would argue that the article should be about Lipsi and Leipsoi be the redirect - if you follow.
