How old is she?[edit]

Notability[edit]

I see that "Spshu" ([1], [2]) has questioned the notability of the article's subject. While other given sources might be less good, Liz Ohanesian "Lauren Faust: Let's Hear It for the Girls", L.A. Weekly People 2012 issue, 2012-05-17 ([3]) looks rather reliable, independent and clearly discusses the subject (Lauren Faust) in depth... Wouldn't that be enough for requirements given in Wikipedia:Notability ([4])? And, of course, she would pass the "shortcut" or "alternative" requirements in WP:ENTERTAINER. For example, "Has a large fan base or a significant "cult" following." ([5] - #2) seems pretty obvious.

By the way, the same source should be sufficient to support many of the statements removed in those edits (though I don't think that those sources were unsuitable - but that might be "offtopic" in this section). --Martynas Patasius (talk) 20:14, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources - DeviantArt, Twitter...[edit]

In several edits ([7], [8], [9]) user "Spshu" has removed the information referenced to Twitter, DeviantArt and IMDB (edit summaries: "remove twitter & IMDB sourced or unsourced", "nota." and "Undid revision 555545930 by Emarsee (talk) which you haven't read + WP:BLP"). While he didn't do so here, his posts on his talk page ([10], [11]), his additional point seems to be that it hasn't been proved that the Twitter and DeviantArt accounts named "fyre-flye" belong to Lauren Faust.

Thus I have tried to look for evidence - and I found [12] ("Acclaimed Animation Veteran Backs Wildlife Shelter Campaign", date posted: "Mon 12:26 AM, Apr 22, 2013", at WTVY TV, reporter Sean Sporman). It shows what it calls a post on Lauren Faust DeviantArt account. At about 0:39 the shortcut URL can be seen. It took me some effort (and one wrong try), but it is "http://fav.me/d62fs3g". As we can see, it redirects to http://fyre-flye.deviantart.com/journal/Do-you-want-to-name-a-gator-Gummy-UPDATE-3-366892540 - demonstrating that http://fyre-flye.deviantart.com/ belongs to Lauren Faust (and the same Lauren Faust), as reported by a reliable source. The main page of that account has a link to the Twitter: "https://twitter.com/Fyre_Flye". Quod erat demonstrandum.

Then we can look at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Using the subject as a self-published source ([13]). It lists five criteria that should be followed in order to use the writings of the subject of the article as a source. It looks like the use of those sources in this article does conform to that policy (of course, if anyone doubts that, we can discuss it in more detail).

Further comes IMDB. It is used to support the birth year. I am not extremely comfortable with that (I did add the tag - [14])... However, another source - Liz Ohanesian "Lauren Faust: Let's Hear It for the Girls", L.A. Weekly People 2012 issue, 2012-05-17 - does say "Faust, 37, grew up near Annapolis, Md. [...]". 2012 - 37 = 1975. The estimate can be expected to have an error up to a year, thus 1974 is, at least, plausible. Still, in Lithuanian Wikipedia I wrote just the equivalent of "born c. 1975"... However, it makes using the birthday awkward...

If she has mentioned what those beliefs may or may not be in a reliable source, feel free to add them; I've not heard of such as of yet. Not everyone's religious beliefs are notable or even known. I'm not sure how notable her beliefs would even be (if anyone even knew what they were) unless they were publicly discussed or she's notable for having those beliefs (or something she's notable for was influenced by those beliefs), rather than just being a notable person who happens to believe something.
