While this entry for Landman is marked specifically as "oil worker," the profession actually covers more than the petroleum industry. Landmen work anywhere permitting and title are an issue, including mining and utilities (i.e. -- the phone company employs landmen to obtain rights-of-way for trenching or stringing wires). Landmen may also provide due diligence for sales of oil, gas and mineral interests and valuation for individuals and estates.Lostbat (talk) 18:33, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
