Area altitude and depth[edit]

In this edit I removed the following source previously used to support lake depth:

  • The Easy to See 2005 Calendar. New Zealand: Kingsgrove Calendars. 2005. p. 4. ISBN 0-9-6250469. {{cite book}}: Check |isbn= value: length (help)

The source was added in this edit in 2011 and I originally intended to try to fix the ISBN error, but given that the depth figure was added in this edit in 2006 (when it was presumably already backed by the new Britannica general reference) the extra inline ref didn't seem to add anything, especially given that a calendar is not readily verifiable. So I ditched it instead. If you must have a ref I did also find this rather dated but otherwise much better ref, which also supports the depth figure but gives slightly different values for altitude and area (altitude1,133 feet (345 m), area 46 square miles (120 km2) depth 1,285 feet (392 m)). That old page is also related to some newer content that has less detail. I didn't add either of those because the Britannica values are presumably more current. Who preceeded who?[edit]

the Maori did not preceed the Waitaha The Waitaha were the "peaceful people" -- Waitaha meaning That were here when the Maori migrated to our shores So i challenge this article on those grounds as to its historical accuracy 2406:5A00:BC0C:1B00:248A:C04C:6082:3AC6 (talk) 02:32, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
