Cancelled parades 2010-2014 by president of Viktor Yanukovich[edit]

The article currently claims that "Under the presidency (2010-2014) of Viktor Yanukovich, the parade was not held at all due to budget concerns." I did notice that the 2010 Kiev Victory Day Parade was held when Yanukovich was president.... The 2010 Kiev Victory Day Parade was probably more liked by Yanukovich's Party of Regions (many of whom were nostalgic after the USSR) voters then the annual Kiev Independence Day Parade. I can not proof it, but I think the Independence Day Parades were cancelled by Yanukovich for opportunistic election related reasons or ideologic reasons. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 20:02, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There's no source indicating that Yanukovich cancelled independence parades because of budget concerns either, so I think we should be free to replace or amend it. Wolcott (talk) 07:06, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Marching women in pumps instead of army boots[edit]

I just removed the "marching women in pumps instead of army boots"-2021 parade controversy information. I am sorry but that is just Fancruft and WP:NOTNEWS. Wikipedia is a summary of events and WP:NOTDIARY. It is very unlikely that in 10 years time people will still talk about the proposed and then abandoned idea of Ukrainian military women walking on pumps during the 2021 Ukrainian independence day parade. I would not object if the information would be included in a new Wikipedia article solely about the 2021 Kyiv Independence Day Parade (then the details would not be too specific), but not in an article about all Kyiv Independence Day Parades. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 14:11, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
