CJDehnel: "DUDE... after the guy with the harmonica comes in... it cuts back to the 4 panel view and there is a new clip on bottom right, a white kid with longish hair at a piano, that's my friend. His name's Ryan Larson and he's with jazzman records in hartford CT. That's fuckin sweet." Niv Singer (talk) 06:18, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ElGaucho56: "Even if you're not a drummer, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie's educational drumming videos are so worth watching, just for the sheer joy the man has for what he does." Niv Singer (talk) 06:24, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry man, comments aren't reliable sources. --bitbit (pka Nezek) (talk) 05:07, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Scott Schiller (sampled artist, via email, quoted with permission):
"Kutiman et al sampled a bit of my MPC (drum machine) video at the beginning of #6, "Wait For Me".
I'd heard about the site but hadn't gotten to checking it, and then an old friend emailed to say he'd recognized my video in there - sure enough, there it was! :) I wrote Kutiman to experss my thanks and just compliment him in general on the site, he did a fantastic job digging for samples and putting them together. The whole thing really is beautiful.
I do some DJing and messing around with an MPC + Korg MicroKorg, so this is where the video came from - I made a few which I'd upload to YouTube of scratch practices, beats I'd been playing with on the MPC, or theory about drum beats. I've sampled the same Bernard "Pretty" Purdie drum lesson as shown in The Mother Of All Funk Chords,
in fact (just the audio bit), and as soon as I saw Purdie on Thru-You, I knew it was going to be awesome. ;)"

Which radio station[edit]

As far as I know, the only college radio station in Tel Aviv is 106 FM. Am I missing something or can we add that to the article? --bitbit (pka Nezek) (talk) 20:52, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bernard Purdie[edit]

One guy featured has a wikipedia article Bernard Purdie should something to this effect be added? --Salix (talk): 20:51, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A note on capitalizing the name[edit]

There's been some disagreement on how to capitalize the name of Kutiman's YouTube project. The dude's not consistent about it, himself, variously using:

Given the choices, I'd say "ThruYOU" is most "official", as that's how Kutiman chose to render it in a deliberately-designed logo on the official site. All the other references are in text, making them more casual, and contradict eachother. Going with the logo spelling seems like the best bet. --Jordan117 (talk) 06:12, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dead links and tone[edit]

I have completed copyediting this article as part of the November 2012 Drive and found a number of dead links that need to be rectified; I also edited for tone, as sections were clearly promotional and seemed like they had been written by a fan(s).--Soulparadox (talk) 15:00, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
