An image used in this article, File:Krysz.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Krystal's birth name: Chrystal Soo Jung

Hello,

According to the California's Birth Index, Krystal's real birth name is Chrystal Soo Jung[1] (instead of Krystal Jung). It also has a birth record of Jessica Jung, her sister, here [2]. The two sisters were born in San Francisco, California.

Since this comes from the government records [compiled by the California Office of Health Information and Research], I think it is the most accurate and is a reliable source. As this is Krystal's Wikipedia biography, I think it is appropriate to have the most accurate information presented [although we would always know her by her widely-known name, Krystal, instead].

Also, there was a scan from Krystal's school yearbook/records which showed her childhood picture and spelled her name as Chrystal Soo Jung. (it is not appropriate to post a link to an image on Wikipedia).

Therefore, I think it would be most appropriate to introduce her birth name on the Wikipedia page as "Chrystal Soo Jung", and then after that, we can refer to her as simply Krystal elsewhere throughout the article.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'll be more than happy to know why.

Please do not take out any relevant "negative" information

In regard to the fact that Krystal was being criticized by the public for having an attitude problem, and she did had to apologize once for it (and any other relevant "negative" info), please do not take any of these info out, as they actually were/are facts.

Being from a fan's (or just a regular reader/editor) point of view, it is best to present her information in the most informative way (both good and bad info to stay neutral POV) while NOT putting any damaging effects on her reputation at all. This is not to vandalize her in anyway but just to give an overall clearer image of her as an entertainer and a good insight to her real personality. --TerryAlex (talk) 21:31, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Another singer

Krystal (American singer) of Me & My Piano is also a singer, so this article should be at Krystal (Korean singer). In ictu oculi (talk) 04:40, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

That page is Krystal Harris now, so there is no need to rename this page. It's fine like this. For the Korean-American singer, it's because her real name (Chrystal) is different than her stage name (Krystal), but for the American singer, Krystal (Harris) is really her real name--TerryAlex (talk) 04:53, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Requested move 3 July 2015

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved. Jenks24 (talk) 14:04, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Krystal (singer)Krystal Jung – Per the arguments of other editors presented by Talk:Tiffany Hwang, I think it would be more appropriate to move this page back to Krystal Jung. Her sister is named similarly, and it's the spelling of her real name may be different but the name Krystal Jung can still apply as it is pronounced similarily. Tibbydibby (talk) 20:39, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

  • Support; there is also an American singer named Krystal Harris who at one point recorded simply as "Krystal." I actually thought this RM was about her when I first saw it. Chase (talk | contributions) 03:15, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Comment: Keep in mind that Krystal Jung's real name is Chrystal Jung but regardless, the name "Krystal Jung" should be the page name and should return to that as I proposed. Tibbydibby (talk) 04:54, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Support the current title should point to the disambiguation page per Chase -- 67.70.32.20 (talk) 05:23, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Support per WP:NATURAL. "Krystal Jung" is sometimes used by reliable sources, for example [5], [6], [7], [8], [9]. Random86 (talk) 07:51, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

  • Comment: I note that this move simply reverses a previous, apparently undiscussed move 02:41, 12 April 2014‎ Materialscientist (talk | contribs | block)‎ . . (46 bytes) (+46)‎ . . (Materialscientist moved page Krystal Jung to Krystal (singer): Her stage name is less ambiguous than her actual name). Andrewa (talk) 05:44, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
    • @Andrewa: As I said in my argument on why this page needs to be moved, ″it would be more appropriate to move this page back to Krystal Jung″. I didn't really see the reason why the page name was changed to "Krystal (singer)" because Chrystal and Krystal sounded the same, if you can pronounce the two names. Yes spelt differently, but you all get my point. I definitely want to say that this move request is meant to reverse that previously undiscussed move. Tibbydibby (talk) 15:29, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
      • Understood. The main reason for my comment was to document that previous move, as this history will probably be otherwise lost shortly. There seems a strong consensus to move, in fact I would do it myself except I'm currently on a very flaky connection and so if anything goes wrong I might not be able to fix it. I refrain from voting just in case it's still in the backlog when my connection improves, so I can move it for you then. Andrewa (talk) 04:30, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Nationality

From my understanding, Krystal parents are born in South Korea which essentially makes them South Korean citizen. They moved to San Francisco back in the 90s before Krystal was born. According to South Korean nationality law, quoted "Individuals automatically receive South Korean nationality at birth if at least one parent is a South Korean national, whether they are born within the Republic of Korea or overseas. Paper9oll (📣📝) 09:17, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

@Paper9oll: I agree that she holds dual citizenship, as she often uses her South Korean passport at the airports. But I am not sure if "Korean-American" in the nationality section is clarifying. Should not it be better "United States, South Korea"? Cisdine (talk) 17:25, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
@Cisdine: Nope, Korean-American is the nationality and nobody uses United States, South Korea (this is more like specifying the country rather than nationality). If you wikilink it which is not recommended as per WP:MOS, the Korean is link to South Korea article (can also be linked to Koreans article or North Korea article if the person is from the country which in this instance isn't) and the American is linked to Americans article.
