Other possible sources[edit]

I've moved all of these links from the article to the talk page so they can be sorted out. Sources should really be added as inline citations whenever possible to clearly show what the article content the source is supposed to be supporting. Simply adding bunch of links to the article as "Other sources" is not really constructive at all and not really how sources are added on Wikipedia.

Avoiding copyright violations[edit]

What should I do so that no copyright policy will be violated. kartiktiwary3 (talk) 01:52, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kartiktiwary. Wikipedia articles are supposed to be written in our own words. Moreover, what we write is supposed to accurately reflect what reliable sources say and not be our own original research. Simply copying and pasting, writing exactly or writing almost exactly content we find on other webpages is going to be flagged as a copy violation almost every time. Since some of the article content has been flagged as a copyright violation, you should stop editing the problem text until an administrator or OTRS volunteer, etc. can review it. They will fix it if possible. If you'd like to make suggestions for them to consider, then you can do so by clicking here as explained in "Otherwise, you may write a new article without copyright-infringing material. Click "Show" to read where and how." on the template. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:13, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Can i rewrite this personal life section of Keith Sequeira with new contents in my own words which doesn't violate any copyright policy. After my edit you can verify that so that you can remove this Copyright violation tag.
kartiktiwary3 (talk) 18:08, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As explained above, you can rewrite that section if you wish, but you cannot make changes directly to the article. You need to do it here (that opens a special subpage for you to work on) so click the link and you'll see the instructions. Only administrators, OTRS volunteers or copyright clerks are allowed to remove copyright violation templates; Eventually, one of them will come and check to the page. If there is no copyright violation, they will remove the tag. If there is a copyright violation, they will remove whatever text they can't fix or think is in appropriate. Once they have finished evaluating the article they will remove the tag, and describe what action they took at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2015 October 21. If you decide to try and rewrite the disputed content by using the special subpage I linked to above, they will review it and add it to the article (with whatever improvements they feel are necessary) if they feel your rewrite corrects the problem. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:57, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I had created the temp. Article section for the Personal Life section of Keith Sequeira. You can check that section so that you can give me the clearance by which I will be able for the request of removal of the copyright violation tag.
kartiktiwary3 (talk) 04:01, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You don't need clearance from me. The person who checks the template will look at your rewrite and add use it if they feel it fixes the problems. There are only so many people checking this kind of thing, so it just may take some time for someone to get to it. The template says "Unless the copyright status of the text on this page is clarified, the problematic text or the entire page may be deleted one week after the time of its listing." so that it's likely to take at least a week. Maybe you can speed things up a bit by adding a note about the rewrite to the "Keith Sequeira" section at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2015 October 21. Or, you could also try adding Template:admin help to this page and wait for an administrator to answer your request. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:24, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem removed[edit]

Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: http://www.veethi.com/india-people/keith_sequeira-profile-6859-14.htm#open_edit_bio. Date of birth[edit]

The Keith Sequeira Age, Height, Weight, Favorite Things and More source cited for Sequeira's date of birth says he was born on 30 April 1980. Sparuthi, however, has been changning the birth year to 1970 without providing a reliable source. Per WP:BLPSOURCES, a reliable source needs to be cited for any information which might be considered contentious in a Wikipedia article about a living person; Dates of birth need to be supported by a reliable citation. If the currently cited source is incorrect, then another source needs to be provided which shows this. The birth year should not simply be changed per WP:RSCONTEXT because that does not accurately reflect what the cited source says. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:50, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
