Content Query[edit]

Well, the notes in the article will make one wonder...

Under the "Requirement of the bridge" & "Construction" sections, it states that the bridge is "entirely in Zambia", meaning that not a single part of it is located within Namibia, which is true.

It states that the Bridge is part of the "Livingstone-Mongu Road", (M10) meaning that anybody travelling from Sesheke towards Mongu can cross this Bridge without touching Namibia.

Also, one can travel from Katima Mulilo in Namibia to Mongu in Zambia without crossing the bridge. Even the Image in the Infobox shows that this bridge "does not cross" any "national boundary".

So, I do not think that the Infobox (& Introduction) should read that "the Bridge is located in Katima Mulilo", to be honest.

We need to avoid making it look like "This Bridge" is what links the two countries, as one can go from Namibia to Western Zambia (Mongu) without crossing the bridge, unless we're specifically talking about "trade corridors" & linking the two capital cities (Windhoek & Lusaka), where it is automatically applicable.

A normal "border bridge" (like the Kazungula Bridge) has got immigration offices on either side of the river being crossed. So, the "Katima Mulilo Bridge" can't be called a "border bridge" in that regard, even if Namibia somehow helped in its construction, as both ends of that bridge are in Zambia.

So, with this information, would you recommend that we leave the text the way it is written (saying "Katima Mulilo is the locale of the bridge")? GeographicAccountant (talk) 13:01, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'll just make time to correct the information in this article, as it is clear that not a single part of this bridge is outside Zambia. Even if Namibia helped with its construction, there is no part of this bridge within its territory. GeographicAccountant (talk) 00:15, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
