I just wanted to provide feedback on the notability point. Namely, a friend of mine said over the weekend "you have to see this video called 'pregnant women are smug'" and that brought me to YouTube, then after seeing a number of appearances of this woman on Scrubs (also available via Youtube) I wanted to know more about her--she's a star in the making. So, at least to my unsystematic observation, this is a person about whom a reasonable person might want to find out a bit more: celebrity status, albeit a minor celebrity. Best known as?[edit]

At this point, she's had major roles in both Always Sunny and Raising Hope, in addition to her work as a part of Garfunkel and Oates, so I think her minor guest role in a single season of Scrubs is not what she is best known for. :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.139.44.227 (talk) 17:11, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes; feel free to adjust the article with cited sources as time goes on. Seems like Scrubs was her first wide series exposure, so I've edited the lead to reflect that. The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia article doesn't list her yet, but she has (had?) a recurring part in Raising Hope - any reviews of her portrayal there (I haven't seen the show)? Also, we could use some help putting her "appeared in" listings back in date order. --Lexein (talk) 02:12, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jordan White?[edit]

I question the need to mention that she went to school with Jordan White. Who is that guy? Is he notable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.144.171.162 (talk) 15:47, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Their school in Nazareth, PA is a tiny school in eastern Pennsylvania and had exactly 3 stars come from it, Miccuci, White, and Michael Andretti. It seems notable to me, I mean the guy is on Sony and performed on stage with tons of national acts, and has a new album out. Not to mention, according to interviews he was good friends with Miccuci and took piano lessons from her mother once a week when they were both teenagers. I just checked and the Jordan White page mentions Miccuci a bunch of times. Also check here Nazareth Area High School and scroll down to the "Notable Alumni" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.253.64.30 (talk) 05:28, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

American, US-American, or USA[edit]

Not sure why there is a need for the rarely use term US-American.

The name used for a person from the USA has been American since the 1800s and this article is about Kate Micucci, not the USA and the terms/names used for its citizens, therefore I feel that the use of US-American is missed placed in this article. It also sounds like tautology when read.

I have change the related part of the sentence to read as follows "actress from the USA". this should resolve the difference of opinion.

if Kate Micucci is from North, South, or Latin America, you could add that information. Robcamstone (talk) 10:41, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I put it back to how it was before all of that. There is no difference of opinion. Just because some random troll shows up and makes some crazy edit, that doesn't mean we have to try to compromise. Wikipedia is not a battleground; if that editor has a problem with the definition of the word "American", he'll have to solve that somewhere else. I second Jordan White removal[edit]

The arguments given for keeping it above aren't convincing. Whether he is a notable person or not (and that is a separate discussion) the inclusion of it here seems a) irrelavant and b) self serving to Jordan White, considering the inclusion and defense for keeping it apparantly comes from multiple IP addresses that reveal some person(s) working on behalf of Mr. Jordan to increase his internet presence. The point is there is no reference from Micucci herself that speaks of any connection or relevance to having gone to the same school as Mr. Jordan. The argument given is that it is relavent to JORDAN...and that is fine. Leave it on Mr. Jordan's wikipage. But it has no significance to a larger biographic sketch of Ms. Micucci. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.61.247.100 (talk) 21:02, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

DISAGREE: Both Mr. White and Ms. Micucci are absolutely relatively to the other on each page. They took piano lessons from the *same person* in high school, were good frieds, and are the only two out of the entire school district to have pushed themselves in to the entertainment industry. Sheeh! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.16.14.42 (talk) 13:42, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I never heard of him either so I checked his wikipage and its history. It seems like White has attempted to attach his name to any and every wikipedia page where he feels he has some kind of connection. In some cases, such as adding his name to a list of notable artists represented by certain companies, have been promptly removed by the article's authors. I doesn't belong here unless someone can produce a reference where Kate Miccuci talks about going to the same high school as Jordan White. 2601:800:C101:338A:225:4BFF:FEB2:4402 (talk) 01:52, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You will not ever "hear" of every notable person. It's just reality. She's said in several interviews about him about her past. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.121.36.120 (talk) 23:32, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

REALLY? WHEN? “several interviews about him about her past”? This is not true at all. I am her #1 fan and collect everything about her (see my comments I just wrote in the art section.) She has never mentioned this person at all, anywhere, at any time, in either a print or online interview. If she has I sure would like to know the specifics because I somehow missed it. In fact, she talks about growing up in Nazareth quite a bit in the press, but never has mentioned a Jordan White. When questioned specifically if anyone else of note has ever come out of her hometown on Season 7, episode 9 of “Is It a Bicycle” Podcast on 08/22/14 (I just looked it up!) she identifies the Andretti racing family and herself. And that’s it. Sorry, I really get mad when people lie about Kate or claim she said something she didn’t. But if you can prove me wrong please do. I will give you my personal email so you can send me a copy or a link. To my knowledge I have chronicled every interview she has ever done. Thanks. 1Katefan1 (talk) 15:51, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Could there be more information about her duel career as an artist?[edit]

Could someone add a section on her art career? Or at least include a paragraph about it in the career section. She has had three notable exhibits, and donates the proceeds to charity. I would do it myself but I’m not sure how to write code. Primary coverage is in these sources: Flood Magazine, 06/15/15; Dallas Morning News 12/16/15; Flavorwire, 5/27/16. Plus broadcast coverage on KDAF-CW33 in Dallas. More information can be found within each of these sources. Or if you message me I will send you my personal email and I will provide clippings. I am Kate’s #1 fan and track and collect all of her press coverage dating back to her very first interview! 1Katefan1 (talk) 12:59, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Career section[edit]

Why is her part in Garfunkel and Oates so selective here? I know they have a separate page, so why reference a long outdated UCB “an Evening with Garfunkel and Oates” as if it is in the present tense (“frequently be seen performing…”), but then not a sentence for their IFC or Vimeo shows, which Kate co-produced! Also, why a paragraph about “The Loophole,” but not “Sex With Ducks,” which was equally controversial? 1Katefan1 (talk) 13:24, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage[edit]

On Feb. 16, 2018 she and record producer Jake Sinclair announced on social media that they were married. Is this enough of a source to add to the article, or does it need to be reported by an independent media outlet in order to be considered a reliable source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.44.25.132 (talk) 16:37, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Main image[edit]

I changed the image back to the 2009 one. If we have a professional-looking image that falls under the commons license we should use that over what looks like a fan image where she's not even looking at the camera and her eyes are closed.--CyberGhostface (talk) 15:23, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Plays keyboards also[edit]

Interview with Conan on Youtube, one of her odd jobs was teaching piano. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pbo-CZd7qeI&t=4s She plays electric piano on Garfield and Oats "Save the Rich" video performance.

Nearly every musician (and many drummers) in the world 'play keyboards also'. Becoming proficient at piano is required for most college music programs. We should stick with primary instruments here. | Uncle Milty | talk | 23:53, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kate and Day's possible manic pixie series[edit]

Kate Micucci and Felicia Day were (and hopefully still are) working on a possible television series about a manic pixie girl who grows up. Some details at 2019 article/interview written by Noam Scheiber and published in New York Times. EarthFurst (talk) 06:34, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
