Could someone please change the flag at the top to Spain as it clearly notes that he was born in Madrid, Spain? Lee 15:50 16, October 2007 (UTC)

Whilst he was born in Spain, he is not Spanish, he is American. He was born to American parents, in Madrid, Spain, whilst his father was stationed there with the US Airforce. He was raised in the US and would be a US citizen. I sincerely doubt he would have any real affiliation with Spain. -- Misinformation (talk) 10:41, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

if he was born in Spain, that would make him an automatic citizen of Spain would it not?68.164.85.197 (talk) 02:22, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Not if he was born to a family that was stationed over there in one of the branches of the American Military, and chances are he was probaly born in the hospital at the Base, and the Base is considered US Territory. Fisha695 (talk) 16:28, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

If Glen is Spanish, that makes John McCain Panamanian. He was born in the canal zone while his father was stationed there. I know Glen. He grew up mostly in rural northeast Missouri near New London and Bowling Green (not far from Mark Twains hometown, Hannibal, fyi.) Glen graduated from Bowling Green H.S. Their colors are red & black...sound familiar? He told local press some years ago he was allowed red & black as a way to honor his old H.S. every time he wrestles. Plus it played into the whole "fire" image. R anderson1966 (talk) 00:32, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Jew

According to obsessedwithwrestling.com, Kane is jewish, I don't know if this is just bullshit. Here's the link though: http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/profiles/jewish.php —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.185.211.226 (talk) 22:52, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

World Heavyweight Championship

Did Kane won the WHC?. See the 2004 section, i need a source. --KingOfDX (talk) 05:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, because when Paul London and Brian Kendrick won the World Tag Team Championship from Cade and Murdoch at the house show, JR and Lawler even talked about it during their match at Unforgiven.--Lord Dagon (talk) 14:57, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

No source?, removed. --KingOfDX (talk) 06:38, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Kane defeated Chris Benoit at a house show in 2004 to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Unlike Paul London & Brian Kendrick's title win, Kane's was disallowed because it was a World Championship. Since the title change was not allowed, the World Heavyweight Championship doesn't recognize Kane as a former champion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomholdroyd (talkcontribs) 19:19, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I may be mistaken, but I do believe it was actually The Undertaker that burned down the funeral home. Not Kane. I could be wrong though, but if I am, apologies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.168.32.98 (talk) 06:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Maksed Kane vs. Unmasked Kane

Are they they same person? The masked Kane seemed Rreally muscular, especially his exposed arm when he wore the full body suit, and he also seemed muscilar in the abs, whereas the unmasked Kane seems larger, with a fatter abdomen and more a round arm, rather than built and muscular. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.133.54.150 (talk) 02:29, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Festus is the guy who played the Imposter Kane 3pointswish (talk) 02:24, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't think he asked about who played the Imposter Kane character once upon a time, I think he's asking if the early version of masked Kane (1997-2000-something) is the same as the current guy. Which is yes, only Mr. Jacobs seems a tad bit out-of-shape now as compared to then. And this discussion doesn't really belong here anywhere. --Kaizer13 (talk) 16:26, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Ah, that could be true. Just look at everyone from 10 years ago, Undertaker's lost 30 pounds, Kane's a lot more out of shape, Triple H got 30 more pounds of muscle, HBK's lost 10 pounds of muscle, everyone's different than back then. 3pointswish (talk) 20:27, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
This discussion does not make sense because almost every person has strayed off topic. That is all. Altenhofen (talk) 03:36, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Look...some folks obviously can't distinguish storyline from real life. Glen T. Jacobs is and always has been Kane. With the caveat of that brief aborted storyline involving the Kane impostor. Even then, the real Kane was/is Glen. His muscle mass and weight have fluctuated some over the years (hey, it happens to us all with age), but his basic bodytype is still the same big scarry mofo I loved to watch play college hoops and football 20-odd years ago. WrestleMania XXIV Match Length

Kane's match only lasted 8 seconds not 9. This was reported on last night's ECW by none other than Kane himself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.22.123.124 (talk) 21:08, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

At 8 seconds, the length of the match sets the WrestleMania record. This should be noted, as it could be considered a career accomplishment. His "WrestleMania moment," if you will.--Obligatoryhandle (talk) 00:38, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
I agree. And to say That doesn't need to be noted here is silly. Just like a record set at the Super Bowl is noted on a football players page, this too should be noted. --Endless Dan 01:17, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I know for a Fact, the un-masked Kane is not the real Kane, Kane owns a gym in my hometown of Sevierville, Tn, Family Fitness, I will not give out his full name, but his first name is Scott, he wore a mask for years because he did not like wrestling all that much, he kept it that way so he could be replaced when he wanted to quit. I see him time to time in my store purchasing fishing supplies, he still has long hair, and still is fit. So the un-masked Kane is a fake and it kinda urks me they put Scott's stats in there to reflect well for Jacob Glenn. Scott was a better Kane Hands down, Vince M. shouldn't be such a ball breaker. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.241.127.162 (talk) 15:27, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

ECW Champion

Kane winning the ECW Championship at WrestleMania XXIV was an amazing acomplishment. However I clearly remember Michael Cole saying "both Undertaker and Kane walked out of WrestleMania as a world champion." According to Pro Wrestling Illustrated the ECW Championship is not a recognized world championship. I think the only reason it isn't recognized as a world championship is because its prestige has dropped since coming out of retirement and the only reason I think its prestige has dropped is because there are no other championships on the ECW brand. Would anyone be able to find out if any other championships are joining the ECW brand soon? Also would you be able to find out the real reason why the ECW Championship isn't recognized as a world championship? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomholdroyd (talkcontribs) 19:34, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Not that this kind of discussion is allowed on Wikipedia talk pages, I think it may be because WWE themselves consider the ECW Championship to be a mid-card title, like the Intercontinental and US titles. I've seen no official confirmations though. --Kaizer13 (talk) 20:47, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
back when RVD, Big Show, and Lashley were champions, it was treated as if it was on par with the WWE and WHC, although now it's been dropped to a midcard title —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jdrouskirsh (talkcontribs) 23:50, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
The ECW title is regarded as a world title by World Wrestling Entertainment, but PWI who "officially" declare whether a title or not is a world title hasn't reinstated world title status because it isn't defended abroad enough, its normally only contended in the USA. Unless it is a worked shoot, the answer is yes. The most recent worked shoot to occur in WWE was "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's mention of Santino Marella being arrested on charges of Driving Under The Influence. Aside from that, roughly 99% of the things which occur in WWE are storylines. Things that occur in the WWE outside of the normal storyline typically end up as storylines one way or another. Sorry but this is not a forum! Thanks Adster95 (talk) 09:21, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

The bag contains Kane's mask from what I've heard. There is still an angle that they are going to retry. They still want to remove Glenn as Kane and say he was just some psycho that Paul Bearer found to portray his son. Don't know if they are going to redo the "NEW" Kane angle or just simply say he's always been dead. Charles-Joseph (talk) 04:57, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

It has since be revealed on RAW that the bag Kane has been carrying around contained a Mask belonging to Rey Mysterio and it was he whom he was asking the question 'is he alive or is he dead'. It was suggesting that some harm has come to Rey. Joe Durkin 83 (talk) 02:52, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

"Heel turn"

I just want to put this out there: who says this is a heel turn? Kane's a tweener, something like this doesn't automatically turn him heel, not yet. Not in my mind, anyway. 3pointswish (talk) 03:48, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

I agree. He has attacked all kinds of people (think of Jamie Noble the week before on Raw) so it doesn't necessarily mean he is a heel. 69.61.221.25 (talk) 12:38, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

I can't ever recall a tweener attacking non-wrestlers viscously. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 16:37, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

I just saw a clip on SmackDown that portrayed Kane in a heel light. They added sound effects like a beast of some sort roaring, so I think they're making Kane a heel.--211.30.59.158 (talk) 07:12, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

I think Kane doesn't make any heel turn... i mean,Undertaker, during his Smackdown debut after Wrestlemania 20 attacked RVD,but he didn't turned heel. Or Shawn Michaels,he cheated for beat Batista, but he didn't turned heel...i think Kane is still a Tweener. Surely,he's not Face. --81.75.157.46 (talk) 10:38, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

This is not the place to discuss this. per WP:Forum1362talk 00:46, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't think they were discussing it as a forum. I think they were just trying to make a point to not add that he has turned Heel. WeLsHy (talk) 10:25, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Its been confirmed by WrestlingNewsWorld that he in fact turned heel. Any attack on Good Ole JR is pretty much grounds for a heel turn. Its probably a feud with the Undertaker setting up in a short amount of time. Currently he been doing house matches teamed up with another tag team that also recently went heel: Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibase, Jr. Kimmy78 (talk) 08:42, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

why does everyone keep bringing up the undertaker? I think its fairly obvious that Kane's new storyline has nothing to with the Undertaker and they have feuded so many times before, what possible reason would they have to feud again? I think its more likely they are making Kane a monster heel again, possibly with the mask

Bruiser Mastino

I'm fully aware Mike Hallick wreslted as Bruiser Mastino during tenures at WCW & ECW but Glen Jacobs wrestled as Bruiser Mastino in WCW against Sting in 1993. I'm not sure of any history or how many matches he wrestled under the name but there are numerous videos on Youtube & Dailymotion with the Bruiser Mastino (Kane/ Glen Jacobs)vs Sting match

Is there any further information?

Who would support a move to Kane (wrestler)? King iMatthew 2008 10:54, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Oppose for the reasons listed above. He has had several well-known ring names, so keeping the article at Glen Jacobs makes sense. This is in keeping with many WP:PW precedents for pages names. GaryColemanFan (talk) 13:24, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Oppose there have been four professional wrestlers alone who have used the name Kane, not to mention he is well known as Glen Jacobs outside of wrestling as well. –– Lid(Talk) 13:41, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Support I wouldn't consider The Unabomb, Doomsday, or Issac Yankem to be particularly well-known ring names, particularly since none of them have been used by Jacobs since the early to mid '90s. While the "Fake-Diesel" gimmick is more well-known, mostly for just how bad it was, it was dropped almost as soon as it was started. Jacobs has been best known as Kane for over a decade, something which I believe is bolstered to some degree by the fact that he stayed in character while promoting and at the debut of See No Evil.Odin's Beard (talk) 14:09, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

There hasn't been a logical response yet. None of his other ring names are well-known at all. This is just another case of everybody ignoring WP:COMMONNAME and making up their own rules. RandySavageFTW (talk) 15:44, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Hold up, Randy, isn't having a vote ignoring something? So it's OK to ignore one rule to take part in a vote, but not OK to ignore another rule during that vote? Darrenhusted (talk) 15:48, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
(edit conflict) There is a rule somewhere (can't seem to find it right now) to avoid quantifiers if the person has another suitable name to use. Because "Kane (wrestler)" has a quantifier in it, we use his real name. Also, as GCF pointed out, "Kane (wrestler)" could also refer to Lane Huffman. Nikki311 15:56, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

It's not OK to do that, which is why I'm not.. However, I oppose now that I see the Lane Huffman comment. That actually makes sense. But, if that move isn't done for that reason, Steve Williams should be moved. RandySavageFTW (talk) 15:54, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

It might still be true if WWE never release the info, but hey. --Kaizer13 (talk) 03:21, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Supposedly the new song is "Out of The Fire" by Type O Negative. I'm not sure though as I've never heard the song before. AugustWinterman 23:38 20 August 2008 {UTC)

This is Type O Negative. This is his new theme. (Skip to 0:38) Although they sound similar, they are not the same song. Just to clear this up. SAVIOR_SELF.777 19:02, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Edit War

I have seemingly been invovled in an Edit War between me and Gayvn Sykes. This is regarding me (and some helpful additions by Kanenite10) listing Kane's numerous records. Sykes has removed this several times saying its not notable (although he says this many times on numerous topics) I need opinions regarding this. --ChuckCoke (talk) 03:48, 19 August 2008 (UTC)ChuckCoke

It's also uncited original research. Even if you can find a reliable source for it, it's still not notable. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 03:55, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Sykes, half the stuff in this article isn't sourced. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChuckCoke (talkcontribs) 03:57, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Then why add more unsourced stuff? Darrenhusted (talk) 08:00, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Records (WWE)
    • Most Royal Rumble eliminations (11).
    • Tied for most Royal Rumble eliminations in a row (7).
    • Most Royal Rumble appearances (12).
    • Most Royal Rumble appearances in a row (10).
    • Most Tag Team Championship partners.
    • Fastest win in handicap match (28 seconds).
    • Fastest win in a Wrestlemania championship match (8 seconds).

These are not important. WWE only mentions his royal rumble eliminations when he is participating in the match. Tag team partners doesn't mater at all. They don't even mention his fastest wins. They said the eight seconds for about two weeks then never said crap about it. Their not notable.--WillC 04:09, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

I believe that most of this qualifies as listcruft. I don't believe any of it should be included list form, but I'm not totally opposed to most Royal Rumble eliminations and most Royal Rumble appearances being incorporated into the prose, if there is somewhere that it fits well. GaryColemanFan (talk) 04:39, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Here is the policy to go by here, that information is trivial, violates WP:TRIVIA, the information is liftcruft, which violates WP:LISTCRUFT, [case closed].SRX 14:14, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

I give up, Wikipedia is not the place I want to be going onto any more, if any one knows how to get rid of an account, tell me how. --ChuckCoke (talk) 14:46, 19 August 2008 (UTC)ChuckCoke —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.135.156.199 (talk)

I hope everyone takes the time to read WP:NNC. Notability only applies to the existance of the article, not the content inside. As for the records, individual records of sports athletes aren't listcruft, so I don't see how Kane's various rumble records would be either. Mshake3 (talk) 15:51, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Try WP:OR. Darrenhusted (talk) 15:54, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Why no love? Mshake3 (talk) 16:18, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

How about WP:INDISCRIMINATE? "Merely being true, or even verifiable, does not automatically make something suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia." Nikki311 18:07, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

I don't see how that applies with the Rumble statistics. Just mention them in a brief paragraph. Mshake3 (talk) 14:40, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Because it is just a bit random and indiscriminate. Championships are important, appearing in nine rumbles is not so important (particularly as appearing in the rumble is down to the depth on the roster and backstage goodwill, those out of sorts with management don't appear or last three seconds). Darrenhusted (talk)
The Royal Rumble is a big part of the WWE year. These stats show that he has been protrayed as one of the all time top performers of this major event. To diminish it as nothing is idiotic. Mshake3 (talk) 03:35, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Going to say that the only 2 things which are notable imo are quickest Wreslemania Match and Most Royal Rumble appreances. It can easily be explained in the beginning text --Numyht (talk) 12:36, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Katie Vick Storyline

Does anyone else think that a page entitled, "Katie Vick Storyline" should be made, because the Kane article doesn't explain much about it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Degenerate-Y (talkcontribs) 18:40, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Kane will wear his mask again after what happened on raw last week. On the tiantron kane pulled out his old mask. Don't you think we should add that infoMvpisthebest (talk) 17:53, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Kane's mask

Is Kane really going to wear his mask back on. There is a rumour that the current Kane is not the real one. The real one retired for a injury in 2002. Now the real one is going to show off. Is that true at all? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashiqul Islam (talkcontribs) 07:30, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

That rumour doesn't have an ounce of truth. Glen Jacobs was Masked Kane, despite any rumours. There is proof in this video, where Kane challenges Undertaker to a casket match and you can clearly tell that the voice belongs to Glen Jacobs. Kane is on steroid?

Is it true that Kane is on steroid and thats why he could get any taller just as when he wrestled as the evil dentist he was billed 6'8" and later when he returned as Kane he increased one more inch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashiqul Islam (talkcontribs) 07:36, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Believe it or not Kane has never used steroids and why should he anyway. He does have a small glandular problem similar to Paul Wight and Undertaker which makes them taller and bigger. When Kane wrestled as Isaac Yankem he didn't wear special boots that made him to be taller. As Kane he does sometimes, but rarely will use his boots that do have a 3 inch lift concealed inside them and that is why he appears taller now than before.

I've known him since college and he DOES NOT use steroids. He does't NEED to. His body is practically the same (except for a bit of 'middle-age spread') as it was when he was a 2-sport athlete for Northeast Missouri State University in the late 1980s. He's just always been a big tall beefy son-of-a-gun. Good ting his real-life temperment is very very gentle!

Kane's marriage

Kane is married to Maurisa. Does he have an ex-wife ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashiqul Islam (talkcontribs) 07:42, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Kane character used in pc games

Almost in every game (PC,X-box etc.), Kane's height is given 7 foot as it is billed by Wwe. But in the game WWF WARZONE his height was given the real one that is 6'9" , Did WWE meant to show his real height ? Taker was given 6'10" which is his billed height in this game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashiqul Islam (talkcontribs) 07:54, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Great American Bash-Unforgiven?

Why this page stops at his turn heel? Why there isn't what happened at GAM,Rey Mysterio feud and Unforgiven? --81.75.157.46 (talk) 13:12, 22 September 2008 (UTC) Also,No Mercy is coming, why don't you continue the page?

These people don't do Week by Week Events. They go for anything that involves Overall Notable infos but also they will need a very reliable source for that to meet Wikipedia's policy (which is a pain to other users that are PPV or Week by Week Minded) and a must to meet Wikipedia's standard. I'm just saying facts and I'm not really good in making Notable Wrestling Infos so I leave it to the others to do it. 121.120.15.41 (talk) 10:57, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

When the heel turn/mask angle ends, we can add it. It's notable enough to appear on the site. But it's standard policy not to include angles that are still active. --Kaizer13 (talk) 13:09, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Height

Isnt he 7 foot? It says hes 6'11, and one day I came on here it even said 6'8. According to the WWE, he's 7 foot. and if you watcha match with him against the Big Show the two are even, and the big Show is 7 foot. --Harvey "Two-Face" Dent (Muhaha!!) 13:29, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Heights and weights are prone to kayfabe. At one point Kane and UT were both billed as the exact same height and weight despite the fact Kane was taller and UT was heavier. Policy is to copy WWE.com. If another height is stated then it is vandalism, and do bare in mind that a number of wrestlers wear lifts (Hogan is 6'4, always billed as 6'8, and wears four inch lifts). Darrenhusted (talk) 13:33, 11 November 2008

I knew Glen as a college athlete, and (except for a bit of middle-age paunch) he is for all intents & purposes the same height & build as he was then. If I recall correctly, the NMSU (Northeast Missouri State Universiy) media guide listed him as 6'10". He was a two-sport standout for the Bulldogs, and still holds the record for basketball rebounds. Just FYI.

Return to Raw

Can someone rewrite this section please? I don't think it is written too well (using phrases like "to the shock and dismay of") and only the first sentence has a cited source. And also, stop deleting his rivalry with Rey, and his matches up to this point.
