Thank you for your review and suggestion. My comments are the following:

I prefer the present version, because Theodor is better known as Peter (but before his coronation he could not be named as such).
Modified.
I prefer the present version, because it clarifies that the Pope wanted to expand his authority.
I preferred to deleted the sentence, because it is trivia.
