Requested move 4 March 2019[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Moved to Jumanji 3 which appears to be the most popular option. (closed by non-admin page mover) SITH (talk) 10:14, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled third Jumanji filmUntitled Jumanji film – This is incorrect. The third film has already been released in 2017, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is the sequel to Jumanji and Zathura, the two previous entries in the film franchise. -- 70.51.201.106 (talk) 06:53, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Ahecht (TALK

Zathura is not a sequal to Jumanji, just a "spiritual successor". --Ahecht (TALK

  • I support the move, but not for the reason given. Ahecht is correct; Zathura is not considered the second film, Welcome to the Jungle is. -- /Alex/21 07:13, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I dunno why we shy away from just moving it to Jumanji 3 - Some sources refer to it as such, its easy to remember and search for, and Jumanji 3 will be a valid redirect after we know the final title. These "Untitled xxxxx" names are fine for when we don't know any other details, but that's not the case here. -- Netoholic @ 11:18, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support move to Jumanji: The Next Chapter (title used in the teaser poster), Jumanji 3 or Third Jumanji film, but oppose the proposed title per Netoholic. PC78 (talk) 19:59, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Why not move it to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sequel? (Or "untitled sequel".) That would make it more direct. For example, Variety has the headline, "Nick Jonas to Return for 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' Sequel". Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 20:10, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Untitled Jumanji film. Support Jumanji 3 as being just as accurate, much more WP:CONCISE, and more WP:PRECISE. Once the film is titled, this proposed title will be obsolete, while Jumanji 3 will remain precise and accurate, and will be an appropriate redirect when the article is moved to its ultimate title. --В²C 18:24, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Release date issues[edit]

Jumanji the Next level will be releasing this Christmas (December 25) not December 13th folks. Check their social media pages it clearly says when the trailer was released "In theaters this Christmas." Blackhawksfan1445 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:34, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just because it says in theaters this Christmas doesn't necessarily mean it'll be coming out ON Christmas, take 2017s Ferdinand for example, it came out on December 17th 2017 rather than Christmas, that phrase means it'll be out during the holiday season which officially starts in December Jstar367 (talk) 00:29, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you need another example of this, the force awakens, last Jedi and the rise of Skywalker all came out/will come out in the early parts of December though the posters will say, Christmas Jstar367 (talk) 00:34, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the OFFICIAL word of this release date???? The trailer released and no official release date was confirmed yet. Blackhawksfan1445 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:41, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

USE your Spell-Check![edit]

Someone added content to the article that included a made-up word. They used the word "egocentristic" instead of the correct word, "egocentric." Editors should pay attention to the Spell-Check indicator (a jagged red underline) and double-check any questionable words. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gil gosseyn (talkcontribs) 23:25, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Madison Iseman in an undisclosed role?[edit]

Seriously, she was in the last movie, what other role is she playing? Shes Bethany! Y'all get your facts straight! Jstar367 (talk) 17:30, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speculation[edit]

The Production/Development section includes speculation from the cast, with their ideas for what the sequel might be about. Although this is sourced, this sort of speculation from the cast is not notable because the cast don't have any say over the script (with the possible exception of Dwayne Johnson, because he is credited as a producer). It is the writers and director who decide the script.

I suggest removing this irrelevant speculation. -- 109.79.82.126 (talk) 04:55, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the cast speculation.[1] I totally understand why this was added and how it might have been interesting before J:TNL went into production, but the film has been released and the story is known, and cast speculation is still only speculation and idle guesswork. It may have been verified that they said these things but there's no indication that any of it was notable. Comments from Kasdan or the writers would be notable. -- 109.78.192.125 (talk) 01:05, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think removing this from the article would be good for now, unless other editors say otherwise. (Apologies for the late response) KaitoNkmra23 talk 12:23, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for any response at all. There are lots of trigger happy admins with automatic rollback tools who don't seem to read the diffs. I was making sure I had it all clearly explained in advance but I seemed to have avoid the instant revert problem on this occasion. I think putting "Remove references" in the edit summary may have helped make it clear the edit was entirely deliberate.
Lots of film articles have this kind of cast speculation, when they are promoting the film of course they are going to say they want to work on a sequel or want more for their character. It's harmless but not actually notable. -- 109.77.214.47 (talk) 13:54, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ashley Scott[edit]

I removed the following claim from the article: "Ashley Scott was originally intended to also appear as Ashley, but her scenes were later dropped from the final edit."

It was marked {{Citation needed|date=April 2020}} for months. I was only able to find a source suggesting she had been cast[2] but I was not able to find anything to support or confirm other claims about her character name or having filmed scenes that were cut. -- 109.76.143.199 (talk) 10:01, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
