This sentence needs work[edit]

(I'm not certain what the writer intended, so I cannot fix it):

By then, Jones had only from magazines; art historian Andrew Hemingway surmises that Jones absorbed Modernist and Cubist ideas also from paintings.

Date of Death[edit]

This sentence is curious to me. I am not certain why Mr. Jones' date of death is referenced this way. Is there something special about the date of April 19? Was this the date of the TIME magazine issue that reported his death, perhaps? Here is the sentence I am referring to:

Jones died the week prior to April 19, 1963, as reported by TIME, 54-years-old, of a heart attack in Morristown. Norlns22 (talk)
