The result of the move request was: Not moved. Jingle Jangle to redirect to Jingle Jangle (disambiguation) and a technical move request will be filed to move to Jingle Jangle. The Bee Gees song's article has been moved to Jingle Jangle (Bee Gees song). (non-admin closure) Red Slash 04:48, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Jingle Jangle (The Archies song)Jingle Jangle – This article was originally entitled "Jingle Jangle" but was moved by another user. The article now at "Jingle Jangle" is a non-single song from a Bee Gees EP. I believe The Archies song should be the primary article since it was a single that charted so it is more likely to be searched. In additional articles that are meant to link to The Archies song are now incorrectly being linked to the Bee Gees song due to the move. LongLiveMusic (talk) 05:02, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose deletion of the BeeGees song is handled through WP:AfD, and if that wasn't the contention, then this is very poorly suggested, as no indication of what to do with the BeeGees song is provided. Further, if we move the BeeGees song to Jingle Jangle (Bee Gees song) then we should have a disambiguation page instead as the primary landing point. -- 76.65.128.112 (talk) 05:14, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
IP 76 no one is discussing whether the Bee Gees song should be deleted User:Richhoncho merely suggested bringing it to AfD. Simply the sole purpose of this discussion is to decide whether Jingle Jangle (The Archies song) should be moved to Jingle Jangle and most people disagree including you as most think a disambiguation page should be the primary. Hope that clarifies for you. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 05:43, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
LongLiveMusic didn't indicate what should be done with the Bee Gees article, and Richhoncho indicates that deletion is done through AfD, I merely reiterate that stance, that RM is not deletion, and not providing a suggestion as what to do with the article occupying the target destination is very poor, as deletion can be inferred to be the suggested thing to do with the existing article for which no other course of action was provided for in the nomination. -- 76.65.128.112 (talk) 05:52, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I pretty sure LongLiveMusic wanted Jingle Jangle moved to Jingle Jangle (Bee Gees song) but forgot to clarify by forming the RM like this:
it's a common mistake but doesn't mean the user wants the other page deleted. So I've clarified for you no one is discussing deleting it here and you've clearly expressed your standpoint on the page moves. So have a good day. I haven't cast a vote ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 06:16, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's not so common as other people usually leave a suggestion in the rationale as to what to do with the other article in the nomination, even if the formatting of the nomination is missing the other half. Though, it doesn't really affect my lodged opinion, as it deals with this situation already. -- 76.65.128.112 (talk) 06:37, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
