This matter was dealt with most recently, as far as I'm aware, quite publicly, by one of the Chief Rabbis of Israel, when Ilan Ramon went to space. There is no Jewish law in space [yet?], but many of the same concerns and responsa are applied equally. Tomer ^talk 22:16, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is pretty interesting. There should also be an article on Islamic law in the polar regions, since Muslims depend on the sun for timing their prayers and fasts.VR _talk 04:57, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Last time I prayed, froze my butt and could not focus. Also hungry - frost makes you eat more, and at some point you lose control and start munching whatever, kosher or not, you have no choice.
