Notability[edit]

I disagree with articles such as this. They are self promotional and the person has no notability. Being an assistant to a make-up artist on a couple of low budget, unsuccessful films does not make one notable. Simply being on a reality show does not make one notable.

This article was created by "Anunakki" which is the same username that Jerry Macaluso uses on other non-wiki accounts which can be seen here http://www.statueforum.com/archive/index.php/t-100586.html which has him linking his photobucket account of the same name.

Again, this article was created by the user it is about. He has no notability, the article is self promotional, and articles such as these should be deleted. I am not vandalizing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.231.157.74 (talk) 15:55, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article is written in a neutral point of view and gives no indication of advertising at all. --GouramiWatcher (Gulp) 17:05, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A7 is for articles that do not make an assertion of notability. Macaluso was involved in the development of several notable films, which is enough to pass A7. If you wish to pursue deletion, take it to AfD. Write a nomination statement on this talk page, and I will create the nomination page for you. Goodvac (talk) 17:20, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merge or delete[edit]

I think that information in this article should be merged or deleted.

Since the inception of this article by the subject it is about, the article has never had reliable third party sources for any information. It has always contained promotional wording such as claims of success, unnecessary commentary of his work, and name dropping of popular press of which his work has allegedly appeared. None of these statements have ever been sourced, and no evidence has arisen despite claims of his work in popular press.

Even though this article has existed for 6 years, it is still nearly identical to what was originally written by the subject. Since the article hasn't been improved in that time, still remains without legitimate sources, and still contains the same issues it had 6 years ago...I feel it should be merged or deleted.

One option is to merge what little verifiable information exists in this article with the article of the reality show in which he participated.

Another option is to remove the article since it seemingly cannot be improved. A google search yields nothing but wiki mirrors, unsourced first hand information from the subject, and basic information about the reality show in which he participated. Articles such as this are used by the subjects to lend credibility to their work and to promote themselves; however, they add nothing to Wikipedia or the experience of the users.

I'm not an editor, I do not know the rules of the site, but I do know that articles like this do not add value to the site, and ruin wikipedia's credibility. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.231.157.101 (talk) 14:06, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As you already know, I am still wanting to keep this article, even if some tweaking and references are very much needed. I do not think this article is merge-able although I have come to agree that it does contain original research and the sources that are found online are indeed poor references. --GouramiWatcher (Gulp) 23:08, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
