Notes

A few notes so far giving it a once-over:

Per the discussion above, X-commerce was called X.com at-the-time, as the sources say. It's very awkward to say he was an engineer "at a company that later merged with PayPal" instead of just saying it was X.com
It's not accurate to say Levchin co-founded Yelp; Russel and Stoppelman are considered the founders, but Levchin invested in it.[1]
It seems like important context to mention that he moved to California during the dot-com bubble. The San Francisco Chronicle profile[2] includes an entire section called "Sought-after nerd" referring to the high demand for programmers at the time.
We should point out that he is considered a member of the PayPal Mafia, rather than saying "Stoppelman is one of several PayPal's early employees, who went on to create their own internet companies" The sources[3][4] say PayPal Mafia in the headline and this is a very specific reference. It would not otherwise be worth including if it was just a general statement.
Saying that Stoppelman and Simmons came up with a "Yelp style website" is a bit awkward - they came up with Yelp itself.
Lots of sources mention that he was the VP of Engineering at PayPal, and he is often referred to as a former VP of Engineering at PayPal. This is now in the Lead, but his title at Paypal is not in the body.[5][6][7]

Hi CM, I have issues with some of the above .......but that's just me. I would suggest that you post a note at WP:BLPN and ask for more eyes on the article. Explain that its new and that recently some info that you feel is valuable has been removed and could some editors please look over the article and the recently deleted content and make changes as needed. I won't be offended if some of my work is undone (welcome to WP) and I'm not going to do any more editing on it until there are more editors for collaboration. OK, I've changed Levchin to investor and JS is co-founder per this source.
I don't feel that background info about the dot.com bubble, or the economic climate etc. is needed. But I'm open to the opinions of others.
I've re-added the PP Mafia phrase, didn't realize it has its own WP article.
OK, I've moved the sentence to the Yelp section and removed the yelp style website phrase.
OK, I've added the VP title to the body of the article.

Request Edit

This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.

There is an attack website called JeremyStoppelman.com that keeps getting placed in the infobox as if its Jeremy's official website (see here). I have reverted it as obvious vandalism/blp in the past, but seeing as they are being persistent I thought it might be best to have an un-affiliated editor involved. Question: That website, despite using deprecated Flash plugins, at least has the appearance (and I use that term lightly) of being legit, what with his name on it, and all. But your argument would be stronger if you had an official website to propose as a replacement for the one that keeps being appended to that infobox cell. Does he have an official website that may be used? I would be happy to replace it if there is one. If he doesn't use an official site, may I suggest using the Yelp About Us page as a stopgap. Please advise. Beyond that, I see that it's mostly IP's adding that site, so perhaps page protection is warranted? I'm keeping this request open. Spintendo ᔦᔭ 19:48, 24 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi @Spintendo:. Unfortunately Jeremy does not have a personal website. The link says Jeremy Stoppelman "founded online reputation management services in 2004". If you watch the video it says stuff like "At this rate, the company won't be able to afford its high operation and marketing costs within just a few short years. So what the hell's going on? ... a large part of the problem is reputation. Yelp's image has been tainted by failing to address user abuse and how it often finds itself at the center of controversial court cases." I think it might be some kind of link-bait for a reputation management company that wants to serve businesses unhappy with their Yelp reviews. It's not really clear, but it's definitely not his official website. CorporateM (Talk) 20:12, 24 December 2017 (UTC)

Implemented It looks like that site is affiliated with an outfit called Irving investors. Whomever they are, its increasingly clear to me that its not Mr. Stoppelman. I've changed the cell parameter, we'll see where it goes from here. Regards, Spintendo ᔦᔭ 20:19, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
