The article "Jan Millsapps" has been proposed for deletion, the reason being copyright issue with external link: janmillsapps.com

I have edited the home page for janmillsapps.com according to Wikipedia guidelines and have added CC link and this message: This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License. Janleah 19:52, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

I have made minor edits only in the article "Jan Millsapps." I have added internal links and corrected formatting of existing links so that all conform to WP guidelines.

I added one photo by uploading first to WP commons. I added one category (San Francisco State University).

I have not added any additional information. If anything, the article "Jan Millsapps" should be considered even more neutral because of added citations.

The original author of this article (Al SInerco) asked me to help edit his article.

I'm not sure what objection is being raised because of these changes - can someone please explain?

The main problem with this article is the quality of the references. They're mostly press releases or other sources associated with the university. As there is no editorial oversight of these they can't count at WP:reliable sources. Additionally, many of the claims in the article have no references supporting them whatsoever. Don't worry: these warnings don't mean the article is going to be deleted. Instead, they help attract attention from editors who may help resolve the issues and improve the article. OK, I get the part about university press releases and will try to find alternative citations, but here's another question: a lot of my early work was done when citation sources were not and (still aren't in many cases) digitized and online. I have print documentation (like newspaper clippings, film festival programs) - any way to incorporate these (I could scan...but then what?)? Thanks for your help! No problem. References don't have to be on-line (although it's obviously better if they are). You can use the Template:Cite news, Template:Cite book or Template:Cite journal templates and just omit the url= field or leave it empty. Pburka (talk) 23:21, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
