Blue glow from criticality accidents

I've seen it reported (see https://www.pnnl.gov/main/publications/external/technical_reports/PNNL-19176.pdf) that the blue glow from criticality accidents can be caused by Cherenkov effects from radiation passing through the aqueous humor of observers' eyes. The generation of such light now seems to be a proven medical fact see: https://www.redjournal.org/article/S0360-3016(19)33947-1/fulltext

So whilst that also doesn't rule out the possibility of ionised air also contributing to any perceived glow, my challenge would be - can anyone produce or reference any film or photographs of non water moderated critical experiments surrounded by air glowing blue? I have got film of the water moderated Silene critical experiments - in these the uranium solution glows as it achieves criticality. But with water around, the glow can be explained by Cherenkov effects. Knobeeoldben (talk) 15:48, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

Maybe find a better picture?

The photo of an electrical discharge is clearly purple (sith around?) when the description says it should be electric blue, which is a colour on the cyan side of blue.
