Ingress (TV series) → Ingress: The Animation – A lot of sources and Niantic use Ingress: The Animation versus Ingress for the name of the anime. It seems like an obvious way for the company to differentiate the game from the animation. There's also published media that follow this convention such as Ingress: The Niantic Project Files, Volume 1 or Ingress: Level 8. • Oppose Other than an article by Vanity magazine, all other reliable third-party sources refers to the series as "Ingress anime". Use of WP:SUBTITLES in article names are also avoided. —Farix (t | c) 14:37, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
• Oppose (for now) per TheFarix. Neutral. BTW, for clarity, TheFarix is referring to this Variety article (from July 7). I'm actually shocked this isn't already used as a source in the article... (edit conflict) @TheFarix: @IJBall: +Ultra, the entity premiering the anime exclusively in Japan has INGRESS THE ANIMATION on their website [1] and Niantic's Twitter explicitly states "Ingress: The Animation" in their news release tweet [2] — this isn't part of my argument but I think providing additional "reliable" third-party sources is just going to be a regurgitation of Variety - such as Hollywood Reporter [3], Polygon [4], Nerdist [5] (they actually sourced Variety), and Slash Gear [6] (good that they sourced Variety too). They all recycle the Ingress: The Animation as the title but at the same time I'm not using those for my discussion. The fun part is looking for Crafter when it's Craftar (I actually had to fix that spelling on here.)

I see WP:SUBTITLES presenting the point of WP:CONCISE which is The goal of conciseness is to balance brevity with sufficient information to identify the topic to a person familiar with the subject area. I can understand the usage of (TV series) but at the same time Ingress: The Animation provides the same to differentiate from the game of the same name. The format for the naming reminds me of .hack as it seems Niantic is keeping everything as Ingress: [name here] for comics or any published media. – TheGridExe (talk) 16:17, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

More info Netflix just added the title to their site with simply Ingress [7]. It might be a template before the anime graphics are used but I'm simply withdrawing my request as info most likely won't expand until before the anime's release. I'll make a note on the article about the title usage. – TheGridExe (talk) 12:45, 31 July 2018 (UTC)

Netflix Original

Netflix is marketing this anime as an Netflix Original on their service. [8] There's no trailer or further newspress available but the naming is what made me add the appropriate templates regardless of how it's being distributed elsewhere. Also noting netflix.com/ingress redirects to the program as well. – TheGridExe (talk) 18:19, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
