Climate section[edit]

Is it really appropriate for an article on a hamlet to have a "Climate" section, especially as it is identical in text to "Climate" sections of many towns in Somerset, and the climate in the hamlet is no different to that of the parish in which it lies or the city to which it is adjacent? --Pontificalibus (talk) 15:14, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am also somewhat concerned that the text refereed to above has been copied amongst many articles without proper attribution. I wonder who wrote it originally? --Pontificalibus (talk) 15:16, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The problem with attribution was highlighted recently on the FAC of the Somerset Levels when it was identified as being "close paraphrasing" on the met office source. I therefore rewrote the paragraph and put it into the 40 or so articles where it is presented. I was unable to work out who wrote it or where it was first used. We should be using Template:Copied on the talk page of articles where we are copying text from one wikipedia article to another.— Rod talk 15:22, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Parish[edit]

Isn't it in Englishcombe parish, not Priston? See map on page 7 of this.--Pontificalibus (talk) 17:04, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are probably right - I think that error was probably my misreading of a local parish map. We should change this in the lead & I would then advocate merging into Englishcombe.— Rod talk 17:25, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I have changed the prose. However, the merger proposal still remains on Priston's talk page. Jaguar (talk) 17:27, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've now removed the merge banner as the article might survive AfD.— Rod talk 18:21, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
