The Bank Of America tower was NOT the tallest in New England when built.

I see emporis has clear counterexamples to this being the tallest building in New England, but if you read Woodward, William McKenzie (2003). PPS/AIAri Guide to Providence Architecture. Providence, RI: Providence Preservation Society. p. 101. ISBN 0-9742847-0-X., you'll see Woodward making claims to the contrary:

The Providence skyline's most identifiable eminence was planned and built as the tallest building in New England, a distinction it retained for more than twenty years.

Airship / Blimp dock?[edit]

I have heard several times that the building's upper stepped section was designed as a docking point for airships, though never used for this purpose. Does anyone have any thoughts on tracking down a reliable source for this claim? Dialectric (talk) 15:07, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article move[edit]

"111 Westminster Street" is not what this building is known as[edit]

I don't think it's a stretch to say that nobody thinks of this building as "111 Westminster Street".

I suggest we move it to Industrial Trust Building, which is building's the original name. It is more evocative and more commonly used than "111 Westminster Street". example 1, and example 2. Even the New York Times in 2013 said it is "officially called the Industrial National Bank Building". ^[1]

Locally, it is widely known as the "Superman Building" and every article about it uses that nomenclature. Even Google Maps calls it the Superman Building. Arguably, it's a dumb name, and certainly not official, but that's what everyone calls it. - Kzirkel (talk) 16:04, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the article to "Industrial National Bank Building", since this is the name the New York Times says is "official", and since this garners a few thousand more hits than "Industrial Trust Building".
