Fair use rationale for Image:India passport 1927.jpg

70px|left Image:India passport 1927.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. ==

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale''' ''''Italic text''''''Italic text''''''guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember Bold textthat you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Reference for visa free/visa on arrival

The link to the KLM site is broken i.e. points to something completely different.

--Nsonde (talk) 13:22, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi There! Wait for the website to be refreshed it may take a while depending on the technical issue from the sites functionality. You should leave for about a week and try again after. If the problem is intermittent than you should use another Travel Information SitePryde 01 (talk) 04:34, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

vISA nOT REQUIRED

Which countries can Indian passport-holders visit without requiring a visa? Also include countries in which Indian passport-holders can obtain a visa on arrival. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.95.74.66 (talk) 11:14, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Very wrong information about visa exemptions, and also links to wrong URLs. For example, the link to support that Indians have visa exemption to Canada actually points to a link specifying the rules for Jamaica, while for Singapore the link points to the information relevant for Nepal. The article explains that Indians are visa exempt from South Korea and Japan -- completely wrong!139.184.30.132 (talk) 20:42, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Need a small section discussing history, as with other passports

Corruption

I don't know enough about this personally, but it would be good for people to detail the amount of corruption in the passport application system with the use of agents. I have friends in India so I have heard about this. The agents operate as a go between, and the system is make over complex so you need to f=rely on an agent to do what should be done by the government - the agents split the fees with corrupt government workers. This type of corruption is very commonplace - could like to article on corruption and corruption in India in particular. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.137.40.199 (talk) 10:53, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

History

In due course, a History section will be created. Other countries have older pictures of their passports uploaded; in some cases, photos of pre-independence passports are present. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.127.252.4 (talk) 04:01, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Process comparison: Aadhaar, Passport, Driving License and PAN

I can't understand why we need comparison process of different identity card in Passport article. --Muzi (talk) 01:12, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

Well, if you go to Aadhaar article, section "Existing IDs and problem areas" then you can understand the fake ID issues in India. There are thousands of fake passport too. In India currently we have a nation-wide discussion on right and wrong IDs. That is the reason it is required. Ravishyam Bangalore (talk) 09:32, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
